Student answer (Band 5.5)
The ongoing debate is that some individuals believe that it is good to reveal information in scientific analysis, business and educational worlds. On the other hand, sensitive and precious information is not communicated freely among people.
However, I agree with the individuals who believe that the information is delivered freely within the society because they think for the welfare of society.
Initially, the individuals who believe that the data in the field of scientific findings, business and academia id delivered freely among the society.Society. The data in the field of medicinal research may be used to save millions of lives and become the last hope for many people in society. The research in the field of business may be used to eliminate unemployment from the society and give millions of jobs to those who were seeking for the employment and the findings in the field of academic fields may be used for the overall progress and prosperity of a country.
The people who believe that the sensitive and precious information is not delivered freely among the individuals. However, in some circumstances they are right because in our contemporary society we do not believe in anyone because greed is the biggest curse of this era. For instance; their are many researcher whose analysis have been stolen and patented by other analysts. This is the main reason for this insecurity in those people who think that research should not be distributed freely among other researchers beacuse they use it for their own purposes without giving credit to the anaylsis holder.
In my point of view, the findings should be patented and then communicated freely within society. However, it should not be used for their own perspectives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that information should be shared freely and the view that some information should be restricted, while also including a personal opinion. The student presents relevant ideas, such as medicinal research saving lives and business data reducing unemployment, as well as the risk of ideas being stolen due to greed. However, some ideas are repetitive and under-developed, particularly the conclusion, which is brief and somewhat contradictory regarding patents and personal perspectives. The position is stated, but the overall development lacks depth and extension, aligning best with a Band 6.0 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a logical overall arrangement, breaking down the arguments into distinct introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs. However, paragraphing is sometimes awkward, as seen in fragmented or repetitive sentences like 'Society. The data in the field of medicinal research...' Cohesive devices are used, but referencing is occasionally faulty or mechanical, such as repetitive phrasing ('the individuals who believe that', 'the field of'). Furthermore, logical progression between ideas is disrupted by abrupt transitions and repetitive sentence openings. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, warranting a Band 5.5 due to mechanical cohesion and repetitive referencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'contemporary society', 'patented', and 'prosperity'. However, there are notable word-choice errors, awkward collocations, and repetitive phrasing (e.g., repeatedly using 'scientific findings, business and academia' and 'society'). Typos and spelling mistakes also occur, such as 'anaylsis' instead of analysis and 'beacuse' instead of because. While communication is generally clear and meaning gets across, the lexical limitations and repetitive vocabulary prevent the response from reaching Band 6.5, making Band 6.0 a fair and accurate score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often clumsy or grammatically flawed. Examples of grammatical errors include 'The ongoing debate is that some individuals believe...', punctuation issues like 'For instance; their are many researcher...', and subject-verb agreement or pluralization errors ('there are many researcher'). There are also awkward sentence fragments. Despite these errors, the reader can still grasp the intended meaning, and simple sentences are generally controlled. This profile fits the Band 5.0 descriptors, where frequent errors in complex structures persist and cause some difficulty for the reader.
