Student answer (Band 5.0)
People hold differing views regarding information about scientific progress, business and the academic development should be share as much as in the world. While some argue that the information which truley true and paramount that should be spread to the society. I believe that information that contributes to public knowledge and human progress should generally be shared. This essay will discuss both viewpoints in along with my opinion in upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, the supporters who argue that sharing information about science, busines and academic is important? The first and foremost reason is scientific progress and faster solutions. This is because it can build on each other's discoveries instead of repeating the same experiments and companies can exchange ideas and develop better products through collaboration. Furthermore, academic development where students and reasearchers gain acess to more knowledge and can improve their studies. For instance, if scientists openly share medical reasearch, other reasearchers can use these findings to develop new treatments more quickly.
On the other hand, proponents of believe that valuable information should be shared freely. The main reason is that financial investment and security & misuse. where reasearchers and businesses invest significant time and money, so they may deserve control how their discoveries are used and certain scientific information could be misused if it is available to everyone. Moreover, intellectual property where values inventions and reasearch may require protection through patents and copyrights.
In conclusion, both perspectives have valid arguments. However I believe that misuses of information could destroy reasearchers finding which is more convincing because they are the way to develop the world. In my opinion they should have rights to give their own reasearches for economy. If they maintain balance between both then it will be proven beneficial not only for one but slao for the whole society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on information sharing and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is hampered by frequent grammatical and lexical errors which occasionally obscure meaning. For example, in the opening paragraph, the student attempts to outline the debate but produces a fragmented sentence structure: 'People hold differing views regarding information about scientific progress, business and the academic development should be share as much as in the world.' Despite these expression issues, the writer does manage to cover the core themes of scientific collaboration, financial investment, and intellectual property. The position is clear, particularly in the conclusion where the author leans towards protecting certain research to safeguard economic interests. To reach a higher band, the ideas need to be extended with greater clarity and precision, avoiding confusing phrasing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, following a standard introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. There is an overall organizational structure, but logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and grammatical faults. For instance, the second body paragraph awkwardly states: 'On the other hand, proponents of believe that valuable information should be shared freely. The main reason is that financial investment and security & misuse.' This directly contradicts the viewpoint being introduced and confuses the argument. Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes inaccurately or mechanically, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' being applied inconsistently with the arguments presented. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion needs significant improvement to ensure smoother transitions between ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and displays noticeable errors that frequently cause difficulty for the reader. The student attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'intellectual property,' 'collaboration,' and 'financial investment,' but struggles with word choice and word formation. Examples of errors include 'busines' (spelling), 'acess' (spelling), 'reasearch' (repeated misspelling), and awkward phrases like 'misuses of information could destroy reasearchers finding.' Collocations are often unnatural, such as 'spread to the society' instead of 'benefit society.' While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic meaning, the frequency of lexical errors and restricted range prevent the response from achieving a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There is a high frequency of grammatical errors, including missing verbs, incorrect prepositions, and severe structural incompleteness. For example, the sentence 'While some argue that the information which truley true and paramount that should be spread to the society' lacks a main verb and is grammatically incoherent. Furthermore, punctuation and capitalization errors are widespread throughout the text. Simple sentences are handled better, but complex formations almost invariably contain errors that impede communication. To improve, the writer must focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a subject and a verb, and reducing structural interference from their first language.
