Student answer (Band 5.0)
Information plays a vital role in everyone's life. It is believed by some people that, sharing the information in scientific research, business and the academic world would be beneficial. however, according to other people, some information are too important to be shared freely. Both the points and my opinion will be enunciated in the subsequent paragraphs.
To begin with, there are some sectors which can't run without information. For example scientific research which in very important in development and improvements in modern techinques. If people starts sharing valuable and important information with scientists and research centre, then the work load on the scientists would decrease and it will also save times in research. This will benefit both- the country as well as its citizens. Same is in business, if businessmen starts sharing its information about business with other businessmen, then no body in the market will suffer from loss. This will improve the business practises. In academic world, the most benefited are students, as sometimes students did not understand the topic by teacher so, the friends and classmates can help the student.
Furthermore, some information are very important to share, so that they can help other peoples. For example- if someone face loss in business, then the person can share reason of his loss so that other may not face this problem.
In conclusion from my prespective, it is good to share information which help the country and other people. this information will help nation as well as individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on sharing information in scientific research, business, and academia, and includes a concluding personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, with over-generalized examples. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement at 249 words, which impacts the Task Achievement score, placing it firmly in the Band 5 category due to under-developed ideas and the length penalty. While the writer attempts to cover all parts of the task, the reasoning lacks depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is poorly handled; the second body paragraph is extremely short, and sentences within paragraphs lack smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes misused, such as 'however' starting a new sentence with lowercase letters and unnatural conjunctions. There is an attempt at logical progression, but the overall mechanical nature of the cohesion and referencing issues restrict the score to Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple words like 'information', 'good', and 'important'. There are also noticeable word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'some information are' (plural/singular confusion), 'start sharing its information', and 'face loss'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, the limited range and repetitive nature prevent the response from achieving a higher band. Spelling is generally accurate, but lexical flexibility is lacking.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures often contain errors, such as 'If people starts sharing' (subject-verb agreement) and 'some information are' (plurality error). Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present, notably 'however,' starting with a lowercase letter in the introduction. Grammatical errors occur frequently and cause some distraction for the reader, though they do not completely impede overall communication.
