Student answer (Band 5.5)

One group of people believes that it is good to share more information in scientific research, business and the academic world, while another group of people argues that we should protect sensitive data rather than spreading all the details.

From my perspective, in some situations it is generally more important to disclose some information. Whereas there are some data which should not be shared with everyone, because this is more valuable and sensitive facts.

On the one hand, scientific research, business and academic world sectors develop with time. Sharing information related to these fields are generally more important. For instance, scientific information is good to share as much as possible due to this people are more aware of new technologies and are becoming more intellectual. When people from rural and backward areas are gaining information in that way people becomes more interested in scientific and technological fields. There are also many advantages for business fields as business ideas and new techniques are becoming more famous and popular. People are aiming to create there own businesses and use information for there own success. In academic world, information and facts are becoming very useful for students as they are interested in different academic fields. For example, in this era because of more information students interests develops and they are generally more attracted to education sectors.

On the other hand, there is some sensitive information and data, which should be protected and secure by any misuse. In the recent era, there are some people that misuse the information for there own success. They are misleading the new generation for their own purposes. People are not aware of there scames and they are innocents to handle these type of cleverness and smartness. There is some data that is very important for government that should not spread and share with anyone. For example, military and foreign affairs information that is generally more important than anything else. If everyone knows about these information so there will be some misuse of that type of information also.

In conclusion, sharing the information and dta is important but should not all the data is spreaded every-where.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on sharing information in scientific research, business, and academia, and includes the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the paragraph discussing the benefits of sharing information in science, business, and academics relies heavily on general statements such as "people are more aware of new technologies and are becoming more intellectual" without providing deep support or fully distinct examples for each sector. The counter-argument touches upon security and scams, though it remains broad. The position is generally clear throughout, but the depth of elaboration keeps the response at a Band 6 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a recognizable four-paragraph structure with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as "On the one hand" and "On the other hand," but referencing and logical progression are occasionally faulty or mechanical. For example, pronouns like "this" and "there" are sometimes used ambiguously or incorrectly (e.g., "due to this people are more aware"), and the sentence transitions can feel abrupt. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate for a Band 6 rating.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common topics related to research, business, and academia. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and persistent spelling/word choice errors, such as using "there" instead of "their" ("there own businesses", "there own success", "there scames") and "spreaded" instead of "spread". Other awkward phrasings like "innocents to handle these type of cleverness" hinder precision. While the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main arguments, these frequent lexical and spelling slips prevent the score from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing dependent clauses and conditional structures such as "Whereas there are some data which should not be shared..." and "If everyone knows about these information so there will be some misuse...". However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and pluralisation (e.g., "these information", "this data... are", "type of cleverness and smartness"). Punctuation and article usage also show frequent inaccuracies. These errors occasionally cause minor difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar securely in the Band 5.0 range.
