Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response falls significantly short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 85 words. Consequently, the task cannot be fully addressed. The writer mentions the two contrasting views briefly in the introduction and attempts to present a personal opinion, but the ideas are severely under-developed and incomplete. For instance, the second paragraph is cut off mid-sentence ('To commence with, that some can miss use your personal information and can be acess your all the data'). Due to the extreme lack of length and failure to develop the prompt's themes of scientific research and academic contexts, this performance falls under the descriptor for Band 3.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
Coherence and cohesion are heavily disrupted by the extremely fragmented nature of the text. While the writer attempts an introductory paragraph with standard essay phrases like 'To commence with', the response breaks off abruptly after only two sentences, preventing any meaningful logical progression or paragraph structure. Referencing and cohesive devices are rudimentary. There are basic structural attempts, but the overall arrangement fails to form a complete, coherent essay. This aligns closely with the Band 4.0 descriptors, where information is not arranged coherently enough to sustain an argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive. Words like 'information', 'research', 'business', and 'academic' are lifted directly from the prompt. There are multiple lexical errors, such as spelling mistakes ('eassy', 'disscused') and incorrect word choices or forms ('miss use' instead of 'misuse', 'acess' instead of 'access'). The range of vocabulary is extremely limited and barely adequate for simple communication. Because the errors are frequent and the range is restricted, this meets the criteria for a Band 4.0 in Lexical Resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. The majority of attempted sentences contain severe errors that impede meaning. Examples include 'few individuals trust that is is best to share as more information as possible' and 'can be acess your all the data'. Punctuation and capitalization are also poorly handled, such as spaces before commas and lowercase letters at the start of sentences where capitals are required. Due to the constant presence of severe grammatical errors and the lack of complex sentence control, this performance corresponds to a Band 4.0.
