Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to fully address the prompt, as the student discusses sharing personal information on social media rather than the actual topic of scientific research, business data, and academic information. Furthermore, the position is unclear, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. Additionally, the Length Check confirms that the essay contains only 241 words, which falls below the mandatory 250-word minimum. This results in a direct penalty for task length, restricting the score to Band 4.0. Phrases such as 'some people share thair own detail on social media' demonstrate a misunderstanding of the prompt's core themes of academic and scientific transparency.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text demonstrates a weak organizational structure. While the writer attempts to use transitional markers such as 'Initiating, with the reason' and 'On the other hand', these cohesive devices are often misused, unnatural, or grammatically faulty. Paragraphing is attempted, but the paragraphs are extremely brief, and the conclusion is abruptly cut off at the end of the text ('people must stop share impor'), indicating a lack of logical progression and an inability to sustain a cohesive argument. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the overall arrangement of ideas fails to guide the reader smoothly through the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
Vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that strain the reader's understanding. Examples include 'falks' for folks, 'thair' for their, 'thaie' for their, 'informetion' for information, 'advertice' for advertisement, 'sefty' for safety, 'froud' for fraud, 'transection' for transaction, and 'acknoledge' for acknowledge. The student attempts to use less common words such as 'phenomena' and 'demerits', but these are used incorrectly in context. The limited and inaccurate lexical range places this criterion firmly at Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is very weak, featuring a heavy burden of errors that frequently distort meaning. The response relies on a very limited range of structures, and complex sentence attempts are consistently faulty, such as in 'there is no denying fact that the phenomena of share more information in between social nowadays.' Subject-verb agreement errors, incorrect preposition usage, and tense inconsistencies are pervasive throughout the text (e.g., 'I will be discuss both view and will be give'). Punctuation is also problematic, with spaces placed before commas and periods. These persistent errors severely impede communication.
