Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is believe by few individuals that sharing more data is good in some fields such as scientific research, business and the academic world. Whereas other people think that some information are specific and crucial that sharing them is not a good idea. However, in my opinion I believe that sharing information has its own good or bad impacts as it contains important information.

To begin with, some people thinks that exchange of information has its own advantage . Firstly, it would help researchers and other people . For example, in discovering new things researchers need some extra knowledge which they can get from shared experience and knowledge from other researchers. So that they can discover and research in advance level . Hence, sharing of information help in research labs. Moreover, exchange of data also fruitful in business as in business , experienced person can share their ideas and information to newcomers which eventually help newcomer to expand the business.

However, on the other hand few individuals believe that exchanging of data can be harmful . To elaborate it, some informations are specific and important that they can't be discuss to everyone . For instance, lab reports of patient are not allowed to share to everyone as it contains person's personal information . Furthermore, some data like country's military information is serious issue to be share because it is important for country to country.

To conclude, sharing information has its own merits and demerits but I personally believe that exchange of information can be useful if it gives knowledge to others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the views on sharing information freely and the perspective that some data should remain restricted, while also including a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on scientific research mentions gaining extra knowledge, but this point is not fully extended with deep elaboration or specific examples from academic contexts. Similarly, the business example is rather brief and basic. The writer does attempt to take a clear position throughout the essay, which aligns well with the requirements for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, utilizing standard introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs. Cohesive devices are employed to link ideas, such as 'To begin with', 'However, on the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, phrases like 'To elaborate it, some informations are specific and important that they can't be discuss to everyone' demonstrate awkward mechanical transitions and referencing issues. Paragraphing is present and separates the opposing views, but the internal logical progression within paragraphs requires smoother transitions to reach higher band levels.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon relevant domains like 'scientific research', 'business', and 'academic world'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, form, and collocation. Examples include 'It is believe' (passive voice error with verb form), 'informations' (uncountable noun treated as plural), 'advanced level' written as 'advance level', and 'issue to be share' instead of 'shared'. Less common lexical items are attempted, such as 'crucial', but frequent minor word-form errors place this response firmly at Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional or concessive clauses ('Whereas other people think that...', 'However, in my opinion I believe that...'). However, there is a high frequency of grammatical errors and awkward phrasing that affect readability. Frequent errors include subject-verb agreement issues like 'some people thinks' and 'sharing of information help', incorrect verb forms ('can't be discuss', 'to be share'), and article omissions. While communication is not entirely impeded, the high density of basic grammatical inaccuracies prevents the text from reaching a Band 6.0.
