IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Write about the following topic: Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some People thinks that it is very good to share all information in different sectors like science, business and other as soon as possible. While other says that it is not necessary to provide much information they thinks that some information are important not all. This essay will discuss both view before my opinion.
A majority of people consider that it is necessary thing to share maximum information about different categories related to scientific research, business or academic world. According to them the people must share all the pieces of information to others. It would be helpful for these institutes in their work and their research. For example a person find any data related to business he must tell it to others, may be it give benefits to them.
In contrast other argue that it is not essential to spread all the information widely without knowing either it is useful or not. Some information are important out of all and people must provide the relative data to these companies. For example a person find out hundred point about the earthquake but the important is only one whoch is related to cause of earthquake, so he needs ro share only that information which is directly linked with problem instead of all.
In my opinion when people have many information they sould evaluate it and then decide that ehich one is necessary and then share.All the institute do not have much free time to check all the given data, so it is our duty to save their time. When we have any news we must check it and confirm its worth that it is valuable or not and then we have to share it.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at logical organization. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by poor cohesive devices and mechanical linking phrases, such as 'In contrast other argue' and 'In my opinion when people have many information'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak due to abrupt transitions and confusing referencing, such as 'some information are important out of all and people must provide the relative data'. Overall, the logical flow is hindered, corresponding to a Band 5.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words like 'good', 'information', 'things', and 'people'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Some People thinks', 'many information', and 'whichch is related'. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. While the student attempts to use topic-related terms like 'scientific research', 'business', and 'academic world', the limited range and frequent lexical inaccuracies restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. There are frequent, basic errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'Some People thinks' and 'Some information are important', as well as missing articles and incorrect verb forms like 'needs ro share' and 'ehich one'. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures often result in faulty punctuation and run-on sentences, such as 'When we have any news we must check it and confirm its worth that it is valuable or not and then we have to share it.'
