IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Write about the following topic: Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people argued that it is good way for countries developing they share details about research information. However, other people believe that information is too important or too valuable to be shared openly. This essay will discuss both statements before presenting my own viewpoints.

On the one hand, many nations often share information and scientific research with each other. The main reason for this is that it essential for long-term country growth it helps gain knowledge, even they can improve their economic since new innovation brings several benefits. The advanced technology is growing in the world and it use to commute facilities such as Laptops, Smartphones and Computers. Furthermore, if research agencies share knowledge with each other they can easily solve any problem. A clear example of this is that during the pandemic time numerous countries scientists together made vaccine, which helped patients overcome of this disease. Consequently, a significant number of people saved life by vaccination.

On the other hand, many people say that there are some drawbacks. The main reason for this that it escalate competition between companies since it has a risk to leak important data. For instance, if small companies use shared data, so they can easily make same companions of product. Therefore, the biggest brands such as Google, Apple and Amazon they do not share their data freely, since they can affect their sales and their companies can become bankrupt.

In conclusion, if countries provide their to other nations, they can improve their Healthcare sector and IT sector. Conversely, it creates many challenges such as companies can face loss and risk of data leak. From my perspective, they can share vital information about healthcare antidote.
