IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Write about the following topic: Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many peoples claim that it is better to share more data in scientific research, buisness and academic world. The opponents believe that some knowledge is too crucial to be taken forgranted. I will discuss tha both aspects and tell why i believe that some information should nit be shared.
Firstly, it is noted that sharing information is very beneficial for the society. In scientific reasearches, reasearcher can help in finding other treatments and researchers from the knowledge of previous ones. Also the buisness information can provide better way for the development and goals for the companies to grow faster and further. In academic the teachers and students with the help of prioir knowledge or the knowledge available can teach and learn in a more easy way.
On the other hand, I claim that all knowledge should not be shared as it can create issues. For instance if a company share all its data about specific prodyc or sales secret other competitive companies may get benefit from it. Also there might be a misuse of scientific information too which can cause several issues.
In my opinion, the information should be shared generally with caution of the specific knowledge should not be shared. There might be a proper scanning of the knoweldge of what should be shared or not.
In conclusion, if is necessary for a society to have knowledge about things but under the consideration and evaluation that all information must not be shared

While the logical progression is generally maintained, the limited development of ideas restricts the fluidity of the argument. Therefore, this response meets the criteria for Band 6.0.

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some topic-specific terms like 'scientific research', 'competitive companies', and 'academic world'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'peoples', 'buisness', 'reasearches', 'reasearcher', 'prioir', 'prodyc', and 'knoweldge'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, their frequency prevents the lexical score from reaching higher bands. Word choice is sometimes simplistic or repetitive, supporting a Band 5.0 score for lexical resource.
