Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that information should be shared freely and that some information is too important to share—while providing the student's own perspective. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the discussion on why people believe in sharing information relies heavily on general statements like 'it will help people to giving them assist to their project' without extending the arguments with fully elaborated examples. The writer's position is discernible throughout the essay, particularly in the introduction and conclusion, but the reasoning remains basic. These features align the response with a Band 5.0, as the task is addressed, but the ideas are under-developed and lack sufficient support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow due to mechanical and faulty cohesive devices. Phrases such as 'Furthermore on the other hand some other believe' create awkward transitions and misuse cohesive markers. Additionally, referencing is frequently unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in 'we don't know it will help others'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical organisation is weak, resulting in sentences that feel disconnected. This level of organisation and cohesion corresponds to a Band 5.0 descriptor, where some organisation is present, but clear overall progression is lacking.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing terms like 'information', 'scientific research', 'business', and 'educational world' across paragraphs. There are noticeable word choice and morphological errors, such as 'builts' instead of 'builds', 'suitions' instead of 'situations', and 'to giving your concept' instead of 'to sharing your concept'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited, minimally adequate range of vocabulary. The student attempts to use less common academic collocations, but inaccuracies in form and collocation prevent the score from reaching a higher band. This performance is consistent with Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The text displays a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are almost always faulty and grammatically inaccurate. Examples include 'Sharing ideas and information is builts, A person creativity and knowledge which helps in many stage of life' and 'It depends on the suition to giving yours ideas and information to some beneficial things which will gives them benefits.' Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, punctuation, and clause structures impede smooth reading and cause significant strain for the reader. Because simple sentences are flawed and complex structures fail to maintain accuracy, the response fits the Band 4.0 descriptor closely, though it manages to convey a rudimentary message.
