IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Write about the following topic: Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

It has been thought by some individuals that sharing data to conduct new scientific researches, in businessess and in the education field is beneficial to succeed. Whereas a few believes that sharing information freely can be harmful of not being used appropriately. I will discuss both views before presenting my own opinion.

Sharing information in the scientific research, in the business platforms and in education field already helped a lot. In this view, scientists after conducting long research of the ingredients to make the medication that saves the life of humans and discuss the process with scientists . For example, during covid pandemic the vaccination made in one nation helped the other countries in the process of making it, which saved the million of population.

In the education field, tutors sitting in the different cornors of the world can teach via social media platformes like youtube, where education is not easily reached, so the every student get the mandatory education. Businesses co-operate with other businesses to succeed together.

Some information that is too sensitive should not shared to disrupt the system. In this view, the information regarding national security is too valuable, if it being shared freely, it can cause the war situation. Information regarding the success of the business can help the competitors to succeed, which they can use negatively to harm the other businessess.

In conclusion, although sharing information is beneficial, but not all the sensitive information need to be shared which can the disrupt the businesses policies
