Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is a debatable issue that which kind of information shoulb be published freely in scientific research, business and academic world. While some argue that sharing all kinds of information is beneficial, critics assume that the only vital information should provide without any charges. In this essay I will discuss both of the views and give my own opinion by supporting the later assumption.
In a scientific research, business or academic world there are lots of experiments which are carried out by scientists or experts on this field. To figure out any solution or result they have to conduct many analytical works and gather huge information on the topics. Some people belive that all of the information the researcher get out from their experiment must be opened freely to others. As a result, people from divesrse background, for example, students, teachers, businessmen or from other academics can utilise the resources whenever they need for their own purposes. Therefore, they will not suffer from scarcity of enough information. Implementing charge to access all kinds of information may sometimes exerts pressure on some individuals. Moreover, it is also a way to prove their fairness to the state that the data they have provided all are authentic.
However, providing all of the information may be sometimes create some complexity. When general people can access all of the information from any publication freely there is a greater chance of copy right crime by the scammers. Besides, some people may often suffer from difficulties to find out the actual information they need. Additionally, to conduct a research there need a huge funding and imposing charge to access all kinds of
information assits them to collect some funding which ultimately cater their expenses and earnngs. Therefore, sharing most important information is more practical than sharing all kinds of data.
In conclusion, I reiterated my opinion by saying that even so there are some considerable advantages of providing all the data in a publication to the public freely, keeping some restrictions is more pragmatic and would be better for both the publishers and other people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on sharing scientific and academic information and providing a clear personal opinion in favour of placing restrictions. However, some ideas remain under-developed or simplistic. For instance, the discussion regarding why businesses or researchers need funding through charging for information is introduced but lacks extension with concrete examples. The student takes a clear position throughout, supporting the notion that vital information should sometimes be protected, but the arguments rely on somewhat repetitive points rather than fully elaborated academic reasoning, which places the task response at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a coherent overall arrangement to the essay, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. The transition words and phrases used, such as 'To figure out any solution', 'Some people belive', and 'In conclusion, I reiterated my opinion', feel rigid or slightly unnatural. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in pronoun usage and repetitive sentence openings, showing that progression is not yet fully smooth or flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to discuss the topic of academic and scientific publishing. There are attempts at less common lexical items such as 'authentic', 'complexity', and 'pragmatic', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in spelling, word choice, and word form, including 'shoulb', 'divesrse', 'belive', and 'earngs'. Collocations are also occasionally imprecise, such as 'copy right crime' instead of 'copyright infringement'. These lexical errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, there is a limited range of grammatical control, with frequent errors occurring in articles, plurals, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement. Examples of errors include 'In a scientific research', 'there need a huge funding', and 'all of the information the researcher get out'. Furthermore, attempts at complex sentences frequently contain grammatical or structural faults. These errors can occasionally cause some difficulty or hesitation for the reader, fitting the criteria for this level.
