Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today, s world the information is considered very valuable. Some people argue that information is good for sharing as much as possible. While other think that some information kept private. In this information we discuss both opinions and my view about this topic.

One one hand, sharing information has many benefits. Scientist share there researches, when the share information they find about the disease cure and then make vaccines for future. Forexample, in Covid-19 all the scientists share their own knowlegde and information about this virus as a result vaccine was made for this virus. So sharing information is good as well as for students. Students can also learn more and more things by sharing ideas about study.

However, on the other hand some informations are very crucial and valuable to be shared freely. In the buisness comapnies spent millions on the research to make a product, if they share this information they can,t bear the huge loss. Forexample, coka-cola never shared its recipe. Same with the science. With the help of science and technology we made dangerours explosives for the protection of our country. If we share these informations to other country or other people it will be very harmful for our country and people.

In my opinion, i believe in balance approach. Sharing information is very good but it cannot be completly free. Some type of researches consume your lot of time and investment.

In conclusion, both sharing and protecting information has its own importance. We cannot say that just sharing is crucial also protecting information for our country is very important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on information sharing in science, business, and academia, and provides an opinion in the conclusion and body. However, the treatment of these ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the point about business and the Coca-Cola recipe is raised, but it lacks deeper extension regarding the wider economic implications. Similarly, the argument about military technology is introduced with examples like 'dangerours explosives', yet the consequences are mentioned only superficially. The position is generally clear, though the reasoning remains repetitive and relies on basic generalisations rather than fully articulated arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic logical organisation with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, but the progression of ideas lacks clear overall flow. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate or repetitive, such as the mechanical use of transition markers like 'One one hand', 'However, on the other hand', and 'Forexample'. Paragraphing is attempted, but referencing between sentences is occasionally unclear, as seen in abrupt shifts between topics within paragraphs. Furthermore, sentences are often tied together with weak conjunctions, resulting in a choppy structure that disrupts the overall readability of the response.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. There are repeated spelling mistakes such as 'knowlegde', 'buisness', 'comapnies', 'dangerours', and 'completly'. Word choice is often restricted to simple terms, and awkward collocations appear, such as 'balance approach' instead of 'balanced approach'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are hindered by inaccuracies, meaning the lexical range remains constrained overall.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with occasional attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, tense consistency, and prepositions, such as 'Scientist share there researches' and 'companies spent millions on the research... they can,t bear'. Punctuation is also problematic, including comma splices and typographical anomalies like 'In today, s world'. These persistent errors reflect a restricted grammatical control that can cause difficulty and strain for the reader.
