Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion: you explain that sharing research can support innovation and that business knowledge may help entrepreneurs, then raise the risk of information being misused, including for terrorism. Your concluding view—that sharing should involve checks and balances—does respond to the question. However, the position is only briefly stated, and the benefits and risks are mostly asserted rather than explained with specific examples. The academic-world point, for instance, repeats that institutions share knowledge without showing why this information should be freely available or where limits might apply. Develop each side with a concrete example and explain how it supports your opinion; this would make the response more complete and its ideas less limited.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable overall shape: it introduces the topic, presents benefits, turns to possible harms, and ends with a recommendation. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression within and between ideas is often unclear. The academic-world discussion is fragmented across lines, and the shift to the opposing view is not clearly signposted. Connectors such as “And” and “As” do not always show the relationship between points, while “information sharing is the way of knowledge sharing” repeats an idea rather than advancing it. Use clear paragraphs for the introduction, each viewpoint, and the conclusion, and link each claim to its explanation with precise transitions and referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “innovation,” “entrepreneurs,” “economy,” and “terrorism,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “sharing of information” and “knowledge sharing.” Some word choices or combinations are unclear, such as “wrong intend,” “in a larger aspect,” and “common man life,” which can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, distinguish between “sharing research findings,” “disseminating knowledge,” and “protecting sensitive information.” Check spelling and word forms, including “intent,” to make your meaning more reliable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences to explain cause and effect, such as the sentence about research information giving the scientific community access to innovations. However, these attempts are often difficult to follow because clauses are joined without clear structure or punctuation. There are also frequent problems with articles, agreement, and sentence construction: “will play crucial role” needs an article, while “information … they would give” has unclear agreement and reference. Several sentence boundaries are missing, and the final recommendation begins with a lower-case “so” after a full stop. Use shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled complex structures with clear subjects and verbs. Careful proofreading for articles, agreement, and punctuation would improve clarity.
