Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people thinks it is public right to be aware of every information related to scientific research, business and academic world. While other oppose this idea of sharing evey information publically. I also believe that not all kind of information are needed to share freely, as some information is of sensitive nature that its spreading in public can cause social, mental and even safety threats.

People who are in favour of spreading news regarding different fields of scientific reasearch, business and the academic world says that these information make awareness in public to current situations and trends.People can make better choices in their business field, if they are aware of all type of situations. They also think if information regarding academic world are provided openly, it would be helpful for students. On other side, they believe, if publications about scientific work are made regularly, it would intrigue interests in public and specially in students and they will become more keen toward scientific research. The developing interest of students in scientific research will be helpful for the changing modren world, which is relying more on innovatios and inventions.

People who oppose the idea of spreading information, they think itis not safe for all age group people to handle all type of information. They think information related to business are of main interests for businessman only. While academic world informations are impotant for students only and they get these informations from their istitutions. They think scientific informations are not undersatndable by all public, so it do not need to be spread publically.

In my point of view, there should be a scrutning system. Before spreading any kind of information, it must be ensure that whether these information are safe for pulic or unsafe. Specially scientific information are not necessarily needed to spread publically because it may cause threat to public.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both perspectives and state your own view: you explain that open information can raise public awareness and encourage students’ interest in research, while some material may be unsafe to share. This is relevant to the prompt, but the discussion remains general and only partly developed. For example, the claim that business information helps people make better choices is not illustrated, and the opposing view that information is only useful to particular groups is asserted rather than explained. Your position favours screening information, but the final paragraph does not clarify what should be shared or give a specific example of a risk. Develop each side with a concrete example and make your criteria for sharing more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph for each viewpoint, and a concluding personal position. This makes the main line of discussion easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated openings such as “People who…” and repeated references to “information.” Some links are also unclear: “On other side” introduces another supporting point, but the relationship between that point and the previous one could be signposted more precisely. The conclusion introduces a “scrutning system” without connecting it fully to the examples in the body. Use a wider range of accurate transitions and organise each paragraph around a clear claim followed by explanation or an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “business,” “academic world,” “publications,” and “innovations and inventions,” so the subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited by repeated use of broad terms such as “information,” “public,” and “spread,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “make awareness,” “intrigue interests,” and “scrutning system.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “evey,” “reasearch,” and “modren.” Build a more precise vocabulary for the topic and check spelling carefully; for instance, distinguish between sharing research findings, disclosing commercial data, and publishing academic work.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if information regarding academic world are provided openly” and a relative clause in “which is relying more on…” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “Some people thinks” should use a plural verb, while “these information make” has a mismatch between the demonstrative and the uncountable noun. In “it must be ensure,” the verb form is incorrect, and the opening paragraph contains a sentence fragment beginning “While other oppose…”. These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, uncountable nouns, and complete sentence structures before adding more complex clauses.
