Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's world, Information plays an crucial role in scientific research, Business expansion and education. Some people believe that information should be shared as much as possible, while others argue that certain information in too valuable to be shared freely. This essay will discuss both views. I believe that information should generally be shared if important for growth, although some details need to remain private.
On the one hand, sharing information can bring many benefits to society. When scientists share their research it will help to other researchers can learn form their work, develop new ideas and find solutions for the problems. In addition, Its extremely important for education sector such as students can gain their interest in research, learn about on animal research and plants research. For example, during the covid 19 pandemic, scientists all over the world shared those research and medical information about the drug which helped the development of the vaccines.
On the other hand, Some information is too valuable or sensitive to be shared freely. In the business world like companies spend money to developing new products and technologies. If they reveal their trade secrets to the competitors. As a result, they may get lose in markets and will suffer financial loss. For instance, sharing personal data, important medical records or sensitive research without permission could create serious privacy and security problems. For the reasons, some types of information must be protected.
In conclusion, sharing information is essential for scientific progress, education and for society development. However, i believe that it should not be shared without permission where the data is extremely sensitive. Information that benefits the public should be accessible.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear position: information should generally be shared, while sensitive material should remain private. The examples of international research during the COVID-19 pandemic and companies protecting trade secrets are relevant and help explain your points. This meets the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally in depth. The benefits to education are mentioned, for example, but the point about how access to research helps students is not fully explained. Likewise, the business example would be stronger if you showed more specifically how sharing could harm a company. To strengthen the response, extend each main idea with a clearer explanation and a more precise example, while maintaining your balanced position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. Ideas within each paragraph generally follow a sensible order, moving from a claim to an explanation or example. Some connections are less smooth, however: “When scientists share their research it will help to other researchers can learn” combines ideas in a way that interrupts the flow, and “For the reasons” does not clearly link back to the preceding point. Use cohesive devices more naturally and make references between sentences explicit to improve the flow further.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “trade secrets,” “financial loss,” and “privacy and security problems.” These choices make the subject clear, and terms such as “sensitive” and “accessible” suit the discussion. There are also some inaccurate or awkward choices that limit precision, including “information in too valuable,” “learn form their work,” and “get lose in markets.” Capitalisation is inconsistent in “Information,” “Business,” and “Its,” and “covid 19” should be written as “COVID-19.” Aim for more accurate collocations and word forms, such as “lose market share” rather than “get lose in markets.” This would make your vocabulary sound more natural and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If they reveal their trade secrets to the competitors” and a relative clause in “information that benefits the public.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement. For example, “it will help to other researchers can learn” needs a single, correctly formed clause, while “companies spend money to developing” should use a gerund after the preposition. The sentence beginning “If they reveal…” is also left as a fragment rather than joined to its result. Practise building complete conditional sentences and checking article and verb patterns; greater accuracy across these structures would improve control.
