Student answer (Band 6.0)

In these recent years, various new ideas and informations are being explored in the field of science, business and academia. Few individuals often consider it good to share most of these informations, whearas other's believe it should not be shared freely as it may be valuable to them. I think it is good to share as much informations because it will help other people working in the field.

In the one hand, habit of sharing detail informations in the field of science, business and academic will create uniformity and help other people working in same area. When people get to know proper informations, they can plan their work accordingly and stay updated, as the ultimate goal is to explore new informations. Furthermore, sharing information helps to save time, effort and money because researcher and scientists spend large amount of money and time, exploring a particular topic. For instance, publishing positive reasult of treatment in cancer research help other researchers to start it from the next step rather than wasting time in same.

In contrast, sharing overall information freely in those community, will not provide any advantages to them. Particular group or a team have to spend large funding and time to find those informations. Sharing those informations will not provide any benefits to them, and some other person may take all the credits using their information. For example, company B may use the business strategy shared by company A and make a large amount of money.

To conclude, although there are some drawbacks of sharing detailed informations in scietific research, business and the adademic world, there are various plus points of sharing it, which can not be ignored. I belief sharing such informations will be beneficial because it will help to save time, effort and money of people working in same field. Also, collabaration and proper communication in those filed will help to provide further opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for sharing information, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. The examples about cancer research and one company using another’s strategy make the arguments relevant to the topic. However, the benefits of sharing are explained more fully than the reasons for protecting valuable information. The opposing view is mainly presented as a risk of losing credit or profit; explaining why confidentiality, intellectual property, or commercial investment may justify restrictions would develop it further. Your own position is clear, but the claim that sharing is beneficial could be qualified by distinguishing information that should be open from information that may reasonably remain protected. This would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from the benefits of sharing to the risks of doing so is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “In contrast,” and “To conclude” help readers navigate the argument. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the opening of the second paragraph, “In the one hand,” is not an effective transition. References such as “those community” and “sharing it” are not always precise, so readers must infer what they refer to. To strengthen cohesion, use more varied links between ideas and repeat or specify key nouns when a pronoun could have more than one possible reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “research,” “uniformity,” “collaboration,” “credits,” and “business strategy,” and the main ideas remain understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “informations” and “sharing,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “explore new informations,” “large funding,” and “provide any advantages to them.” Spelling errors including “whearas,” “reasult,” and “scietific” also reduce accuracy. These issues fit a level where vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the topic but control is inconsistent. Build a wider set of precise terms for openness and protection, and check spelling and countability: “information” is uncountable, so it does not take a plural ending.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because it will help other people” and a contrast clause beginning “although.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “researcher and scientists spend” needs a plural subject form, while “in same” needs an article or determiner. The sentence beginning “In contrast, sharing overall information freely…” also has a comma separating the subject from its verb. Some longer sentences become difficult to control, particularly the opening sentence of the second paragraph. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, while keeping complex sentences clear and complete.
