Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some argued that it is benefical to share information in scientific research and in academia because it will helpfull to solve problem, however some argued that some information are too crucial and cause negative effect on business and community.

On the one hand, individuals beleive that we should need to share freely information in scientific research and in academic world, the reason is that when scientist discuss their discovery freely, many people try to solve the issue with their own thought, and argued that may be proof helpful to solve the issues, additionaly when universities freely give information about their research students will studying more effectively, that will put the globe into positive way.

In contrast, other people think it is not fair to share freely information in the field of business as well as in scientific field, because if a company invest million to make a formula for developing product if he share information freely the competitior will copy and company will go in lost, while if scientist share their information with public, like formula that how we will make nucler wepons if it will use in negative way it will unfair for society,

In my opinion, we will share those information which has a positive effect on society and helpful for community, wherease we need to secure those information that is important for business.

In conclusion, sharing all type of information maybe harmful for globe, so we share those information that is essential for awer

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a personal position: you support sharing information that benefits society while protecting commercially valuable material. The examples of research collaboration, university findings, company formulas and nuclear weapons are relevant to the topic. However, the discussion is only partly developed. For instance, you say that sharing discoveries may help people solve problems, but do not explain how this works or give a specific example; the business argument is also stated briefly. Your conclusion is incomplete (“essential for awer”), which weakens the final message. The response is also three words below the required minimum. Develop each side with a clearer explanation or example, and finish with a complete conclusion that restates your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting each view, your opinion and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “In contrast,” and “In my opinion” help readers follow the main stages. However, some sentences contain several ideas joined together, making the relationships between claims difficult to follow. The first body paragraph, for example, moves from scientists discussing discoveries to students studying effectively without a clear transition or explanation. Linking expressions are sometimes mechanical, and the final sentence is unfinished, so the ending does not provide a clear sense of completion. Use shorter, more focused sentences, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and ensure the conclusion is complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “discovery,” “competitor,” “formula,” and “society,” so the reader can identify the subject of each argument. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response less clear or natural. Phrases such as “go in lost,” “put the globe into positive way,” and “share freely information” do not express the intended ideas idiomatically. There are also repeated forms of “information” and “share,” which restrict variety. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “suffer a loss” and “share information freely.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a company invest million… the competitor will copy” and a contrast introduced by “while.” These attempts show an effort to explain consequences, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas hard to understand. For example, “some information are” has an agreement error, while “when universities freely give information… students will studying” combines verb forms incorrectly. Several sentences also run on, with clauses joined by commas rather than clearly separated. Practise subject–verb agreement, consistent verb patterns after auxiliaries, and sentence boundaries. Breaking long sentences into two well-formed clauses would improve accuracy and readability.
