Student answer (Band 5.0)

Information is vital for any scientific research, business and academic world. I am partially agree with both statements.

From my perspective, we should share as much as information as possible to the scientific research office. Due to the fact that it will be beneficial for them to use it according to their need and research. we should also share few pieces of relevant information to the business and academic world if it is needed. For instance, if scientific research is doing something essential and you have productive information about it you should share it with them.

On the other hand, we should also share some beneficial information to our party not opposition. As some believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. It is essential to secure your valuable information and save it from being shared if it is important. For instance, If we take two opposite companies, they both have valuable information of their stocks and other which can not be shared freely to anyone.

According to my knowledge, Information of a company holds their secrets of their profit and loss. If these secrets of company are shared then they went viral and company will be flop at that time.

From my perspective, We should share information to others but in the limits. If we take one wrong step then there will be our loss.

Taking everything into account, different people have different thinking and their opinions. People's opinion will change according to their thinking so we should think by our mind and selves.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both views and state a qualified position in “I am partially agree” and later “we should share information to others but in the limits.” The examples about research and competing companies are relevant, but they remain general and do not explain clearly what kinds of information should be shared, or why the benefits of openness might outweigh the risks in some cases. The paragraph about company secrets repeats the concern about protecting information rather than developing a distinct reason. The conclusion also shifts to a general comment about people’s opinions instead of summarising your own view. The response is 247 words, so it is three words below the required minimum; this contributes to the limited development. Add specific reasoning and a more direct conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting each view, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “Taking everything into account” help signal movement between sections. However, progression is limited because the third body paragraph repeats the point about company secrets, and the final paragraph introduces a broad statement about differing opinions rather than drawing the discussion together. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “According to my knowledge” and “if we take one wrong step.” Develop each paragraph around one distinct point, connect examples explicitly to that point, and make the conclusion refer back to the two views and your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “valuable information,” “opposition,” and “profit and loss,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, especially repeated uses of “share information” and “important or valuable.” Some collocations are unnatural, such as “scientific research office,” “share few pieces of relevant information,” and “company will be flop.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Aim for more precise terms for the information being discussed and for the consequences of disclosure, while checking that phrases sound natural in context. Avoid repeating the same general wording when explaining each side.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “If we take two opposite companies,” and a reason introduced by “Due to the fact that.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect fluency. Examples include “I am partially agree” (incorrect verb form), “we should share few pieces” (missing article), and “If these secrets … are shared then they went viral” (inconsistent tense). Capitalisation is also inconsistent after full stops and within sentences, as in “we should” and “Information.” Work on accurate verb forms, articles, and consistent tense, and practise combining ideas into clear complex sentences. Punctuate and capitalise sentences consistently.
