Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a preference for sharing information, with relevant references to scientific discoveries, business, and teaching. However, the position becomes unclear in the conclusion: “I might go with both view” does not resolve the question, and the opinion that sharing is good sits alongside the suggestion that keeping information secret is also good. Several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, the claim that teachers may “create difficulties” for one another is not made clear. Develop fewer examples in more detail, explain the risks and benefits, and state a consistent, direct opinion throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, an opinion paragraph, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and several ideas are joined without clear relationships. The examples about teachers and business losses, for instance, are repeated or left unexplained. The final paragraph also repeats the discussion rather than drawing the argument together. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and use referencing such as “this information” or “such sharing” to make links between sentences clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “business sales,” “competitors,” and “inventions,” so the reader can generally identify the subject of your argument. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “sharing information,” “good thing,” and “ideas.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “beileves,” “invantion,” “idead,” and “inhance,” which can distract the reader. Some combinations are unnatural, including “make new inventions with sharing their information.” Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling; for example, describe how researchers “exchange findings” or how firms “protect commercially sensitive information.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “when a business man share their ideas to competitiors they may take loss.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Examples include “Some people believes,” “it’s a good thing,” “when scientist share,” and “how to taught childrens.” Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation, particularly in the opening and body paragraphs. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and separate ideas into complete sentences. More reliable control of basic structures will make your complex ideas easier to understand.
