Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You refer to both views and give a concluding opinion, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is minimal: the first body paragraph mentions copying, misuse and possible harm to professions, while the second says sharing can help students and employees, but neither point is explained with a clear example or developed reasoning. Your position is also difficult to identify because the introduction says both views will be discussed, and the conclusion does not clearly state when information should or should not be shared. The response contains 213 words, below the required 250; the eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each side with specific reasons and examples, then state your own view directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs broadly correspond to the two views. This gives the reader some basic organisation. However, there is no clear progression within the paragraphs: ideas are often placed next to one another without showing how they connect, as in the list of research, business and academic information followed by the claim that it may be misused. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “To conclude” are present, but some transitions are inaccurate or do not clarify the relationship between ideas. The conclusion also repeats the topic rather than drawing the discussion together. Use a clear topic sentence in each body paragraph and connect each reason to an explanation or example.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary related to the topic, including “scientific research,” “trade,” “misuse,” “practical knowledge” and “valuable.” This shows some awareness of the subject-specific language needed. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to follow, such as “share a good information,” “trade to our profession” and “spread a ideal nformation.” Spelling errors, including “currunt,” “professtion” and “undersatntiong,” also reduce clarity. Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing benefits and risks, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer precise expressions such as “protect commercial information” or “share research findings” over vague or unnatural wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You make some attempts to form longer sentences, including the opening contrast beginning “While some people argue…” and the sentence starting “Moreover.” However, the range is limited, and many sentences contain errors in basic structures that can obscure meaning. For example, “many profession have a some important information” has problems with agreement and article use, while “it was play a vital role” uses an incorrect verb form. The opening “many people believe that is significant” also lacks a clear subject in the clause. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using “because,” “although” and “which.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals and verb forms during proofreading.
