Student answer (Band 5.5)

In modern era, science researches have increased in numerous quantity. Some people argue that these information should be available to everyone. While other think, some informations are to worthy to share, hence should not be revealed free of cost. I am partially agree with both views an this essay will discuss the several aspects of both points.

On the one hand, scientific information would be beneficial in many aspects of life such as in education and professional life. Firstly, medical science researches have helped a lot to humans that are given to everyone to utilize. For example, methods to make several vaccines to prevent genetics diseases was given free by many biologist. Furthurmore if several tips to ehnace agriculture growth is given free by botanist, it would be crucial.

Moreover, procedures given by bussiness advisors are helpful for professional growth of various small business owner.

On the other hand, there are some confidential information should not be given to anyone, espacially free of cost. Although such information would boost individual knowledge, but some information should be kept secrete such as, nuclear and atomic information. If such things revealed to anyone, every country wants to become nuclear power, hence, it would lead to a disaster. For example, Iran just copied statergies of making atom bomb which was available free on a website which in the end lead to war.

In conclusion, I would suggest to give information publically that are useful and hide which can cause any problem. Among two there ahould be a balance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and give a position in the introduction and conclusion: information that is useful should be public, while potentially harmful material should be restricted. The examples about medical research, agriculture, business advice and nuclear knowledge are relevant to the topic. However, the position is not fully consistent: “partially agree with both views” is broad, and the essay does not explain clearly how to decide which information is valuable or dangerous. Several points are asserted rather than developed; for instance, the vaccine example does not explain how sharing produced wider benefits, and the claim about Iran is not sufficiently supported. Develop fewer examples with clearer reasoning and make your criteria for sharing explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the main ideas are generally presented in a sensible order. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt: the discussion moves from medical research to agriculture and then business without explaining how these examples connect. Some linking is mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the general position rather than drawing together the argument. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as in “such information” and “such things,” which could refer to several different ideas. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph develop one central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific information,” “confidential,” “nuclear,” “vaccines” and “agriculture,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “in numerous quantity,” “given to everyone to utilize,” and “information are to worthy.” Spelling errors such as “Furthurmore,” “ehnace,” “bussiness” and “secrete” are noticeable, while “genetics diseases” is an inaccurate form. These issues reduce precision, especially when discussing the examples. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; for instance, use “research findings” and “shared openly” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If such things revealed to anyone…” and clauses introduced by “Although.” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “Some people argue that these information should be available” has a number-agreement problem, while “I am partially agree” uses an incorrect verb pattern. In “Although such information would boost individual knowledge, but…,” the conjunctions are incorrectly combined; the conditional also needs a verb (“were revealed”). Articles, plurals and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and one subordinate clause before adding more complex structures.
