Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response touches on both views and gives a personal opinion, particularly in “In my opinion, I believe that information is too important to be shared freely.” However, the discussion does not clearly explain why valuable information might need protection, and the opposing view is only briefly and confusingly presented. The medical-camp example shows that free information can benefit a community, but it does not clearly support the stated position that important information should not be shared freely; the conclusion then shifts towards supporting free information. This makes the position difficult to follow and the ideas minimally developed. The response is also 20 words below the required minimum, with 43 words copied from the prompt excluded from the count. Develop both arguments and make the example and conclusion consistent with your opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response, including an opening, a contrast introduced by “on the other hand,” an example, and a concluding sentence. However, the ideas are not arranged in a clear progression: the paragraph beginning “Peoples think according to their thoughts” is difficult to interpret, and the relationship between the stated opinion, the free medical camp, and the final claim is unclear. Paragraphing is limited, and transitions such as “Meanwhile” do not clearly show how the next point connects to the previous one. To improve, give each paragraph a distinct purpose—one for each view, one for your opinion and supporting example, and a conclusion—and use clear references and linking phrases to show how the ideas relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “valuable ideas,” “welfare of mankind,” and “consultancy fee,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice problems that make several sentences hard to understand. Examples include “valueable,” “experiance,” and “methd,” as well as the unclear phrase “according to their thoughts.” Some expressions are not natural in context, such as “gave any a information” and “charge their fee.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and avoid repeating “people” and “information”; for example, use “share research findings,” “protect commercially sensitive data,” and “provide information free of charge.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts to connect ideas into longer sentences are often inaccurate. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “everything have its pons and cons,” “people learn or gain more experiance if we gave,” and “one of camp is totally free.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “a two medical camp” and the run-on opening paragraph. These problems sometimes make the intended relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “while,” or “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and past-tense forms, and use full stops and capital letters consistently.
