Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is argued that, it is good to transfer information to others in differnt domains like research, business and education. Where others believe that, there are some important infromation and that should be shared to others freely. In my opinion, it is good to share only important information to all.

On the one hand, it is believed that sharing infromation is good to others on research, business and academic. In business, it good to share as much information to others because to gain more profits and maintain equality. For instance, if a farmer shared all the ingredients that used to grow crops like type of seeds, fertilizers and how to cultivate then it can generate more profits. If not shared, the birds will come and pick the best crops and that causes the loss for the farmer. Where it will maintain equality in terms of prices and profits for all.

On the other hand, it is arugued that it is good to share important information freely. This is because if not shared the person may lose valuable time. In research, it is based on thinking from different perspective. Some people will think only from their prespective and make solutions, if information shared then they can do it some what better and won't feel regret. Similarly in both education and business too, the information and time are in high priority. For example, a researcher working on a dating application dataset, where the algorithm need to correclty picked and executed. Here, choosing algorithm consumes more time and sometimes it may fail also. If the decision was correctly made and information correctly exchanged then it can change the world.

In my opinion, it is good to share only important data rather than simply sharing all the confidential information.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a relevant opinion—that only important information should be shared—and include examples from business and research. However, the discussion does not fully address the contrast in the prompt. The first view is described as sharing “as much information as possible,” but the farmer example does not clearly show how sharing all information increases profits or maintains equality; the reference to birds picking crops is difficult to connect to the argument. The second view is also framed as sharing important information freely, rather than explaining why some information may be too valuable or sensitive to share. Your final position is clear but brief. Develop both sides more directly, explain the reasons behind each, and support them with examples that clearly demonstrate the point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader identify the broad stages of your discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several links do not show a logical relationship. For example, the sentence about birds taking crops does not clearly support the claim about sharing information, while “Where it will maintain equality” has an unclear reference. The second body paragraph moves from research to education and business, then to a dating-application dataset without a clear sequence. Use topic sentences that state each argument, then connect each example explicitly to that argument; avoid sentence fragments beginning with “Where.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “research,” “profits,” “confidential information,” “algorithm,” and “dataset,” which helps keep the response relevant. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “information,” “share,” and “good.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “transfer information to others,” “thinking from different perspective,” and “change the world” in the context of selecting an algorithm. Spelling errors such as “differnt,” “infromation,” “arugued,” and “prespective” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim for more precise terms, such as “disseminate findings,” “protect commercially sensitive data,” and “approach a problem from different perspectives,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, including “If information [is] shared, then they can do it somewhat better.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “In business, it good to share,” “the algorithm need to correctly picked and executed,” and “if a farmer shared all the ingredients that used to grow crops.” These show problems with missing verbs, subject–verb agreement, passive forms, and clause construction. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, as in the opening sentence’s comma after “argued.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed supporting clause before adding more complex structures.
