Student answer (Band 4.0)
Yeah I also believe that sharing is caring but you have to share only these things which is less important for you instead of your personal ones . Everyone is not good in this world . Most of the people judges you and take your advantage but there are some other people which is very kind and full of positivity they pushes you for whatever you to achieve in life you will succeed .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response gives a personal view that sharing should be limited to less important information, so it is relevant to the topic. However, it does not discuss both views in the question: there is no explanation of why open sharing benefits science, business, or academia, nor why valuable information might be protected. The opinion is only briefly stated and is not supported with reasons or examples. The response also falls substantially short of the required 250 words, leaving the task minimally addressed. To improve, explain each side separately, state your position clearly, and develop it with a relevant example, such as sharing research findings while protecting commercial data or private information.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0
There is a basic sequence: the writer states a view about sharing, then contrasts people who may take advantage with those who offer encouragement. The contrast marker “but” helps show this relationship. However, the response is a single paragraph and does not organise the two perspectives required by the task. Connections between ideas are also unclear in places, particularly in “they pushes you for whatever you to achieve in life you will succeed,” where several thoughts run together. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and connect each point with clear transitions and complete sentences. This would create a more logical progression rather than a short chain of loosely connected claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses a few relevant expressions, including “sharing is caring,” “take your advantage,” and “full of positivity,” and the general meaning is usually understandable. However, the vocabulary is limited and often conversational or imprecise for an academic discussion. “Sharing is caring” is a familiar slogan rather than a precise way to introduce an argument, while “personal ones” does not clearly identify what information should remain private. The response also relies on broad terms such as “things” and “people.” Use topic-specific language such as “research findings,” “commercially sensitive data,” “intellectual property,” and “public benefit” to express the competing views more accurately and formally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and a longer sentence with a contrast, and the main point can generally be understood. However, control is inconsistent, especially in the longer sentence structures. For example, “Most of the people judges you” has subject–verb disagreement, and “they pushes you” repeats this problem. The sequence “whatever you to achieve in life you will succeed” is also grammatically incomplete and difficult to follow. Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, as several ideas are joined without clear separation. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences from complete clauses; for example, “Some people may exploit shared information, whereas others may use it to support your goals.”
