Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people argue that giving infomation about scientific research, business and the academic world for fee is good while others believe that the information should not be shared volunteerly. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own opinion.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why people support the views that sharing as much data as possible about various sector is good . One main reason is that people will be updated about the latest information without investing a single peeny. That means, people developed their curiosity for knowing unknown things which helps them to be a better version of themselves. In addition, it will aslo helps the society by raising communities overall skills which further strenghtens this viewpoint.

On the other hand, many people argue that some data is too significant or too priceless to share free of cost. This view is based on the believe that if something given freely people don't value them nor use them in their every day life. As a result, the information will valueless and also disgrace the contribution of the people who was the piller behind it. From my perspective, the information should not given people freely atleast people should give a bare minimum charge to gain the information as it wii helpful for their near future.

In conclusion, although both views have their own merits, I believe that people should pay a little to get the infomation. Overall, this approach is more beneficial in the long term.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both perspectives and state a clear preference for charging a small amount, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the benefit of free access is described generally as helping people learn and improving community skills, while the case for charging relies mainly on the claim that people value paid information more. These points need explanation and a specific example, such as how open medical research can benefit the public or how businesses protect commercially sensitive findings. Your position is present, but the reasoning for it is not fully established. The response is also one word below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This coherent arrangement supports the reader, although some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “That means” introduces a consequence, but the connection between free access and becoming “a better version” of oneself is not explained. The phrase “As a result” also leads to a claim about information becoming valueless without showing why. Develop the links between each reason and its consequence, and use clearer referencing so the argument flows more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “latest information,” “contribution,” and “long term,” and the meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the writing less precise: “share volunteerly,” “too priceless,” “information will valueless,” and “bare minimum charge” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “infomation,” “strenghtens,” and “peeny” are also noticeable. Aim to use accurate, conventional phrases for discussing access and value, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish freely available information from information that is commercially or academically valuable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “which helps them to be a better version of themselves” and a conditional structure beginning “if something given freely.” However, some sentence patterns are faulty, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Examples include “people developed their curiosity,” where the verb form does not fit the general statement, and “the information should not given people freely,” which is missing a passive auxiliary and has an incorrect sentence pattern. There are also agreement and article problems, as in “various sector” and “the people who was.” Practise accurate passive forms, subject–verb agreement, and complete clause structures while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
