Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You introduce both views and give a personal position: “only useful information will be shared to others.” However, the discussion only minimally addresses the specific debate. The first body paragraph focuses on how information can help individuals obtain education and jobs, while the second shifts to sharing flood warnings; neither explains clearly why research, business, or academic information should be shared freely or why valuable information might need protection. Your opinion is also brief and not fully supported. The conclusion adds a point about government punishment for false information, but this is not developed in the essay. The response contains 233 words, so it is 17 words below the 250-word minimum; 21 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides with relevant reasons and examples, then explain your position more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, an opinion paragraph, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “to begin with,” “on the other hand,” and “in conclusion” helps readers identify the sections. However, progression between ideas is limited: the first body paragraph moves from research to education and employment without explaining the connection to open sharing, and the second shifts from the value of information to flood news and then to the claim that any information is important. The opinion paragraph introduces fake news without linking it clearly to the earlier arguments. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, including “as a result” where the preceding point does not establish the conclusion. Build each paragraph around one clear claim and use linking phrases to show the reasoning between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “opportunities,” “survival,” “safety and security,” and “fake information,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. For example, “a new related to flood” appears to mean a flood-related news item, and “fake information caused impact of life and mental health” does not express the intended effect naturally. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “gobal,” “opporunities,” “conculsion,” and “strick.” Aim for more precise phrases and check spelling carefully. For instance, distinguish between information being “shared openly” and being “protected,” which directly expresses the two positions in the prompt.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer sentence patterns, such as “Some people think … Others people argue …” and “same news are fake but people believe them,” but most sentences rely on simple structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in articles, agreement, and verb forms occur throughout: “in 21 century,” “world become,” “scientific research tell us,” and “a person get” all need grammatical correction. Sentence boundaries and capitalization are also inconsistent, as in the lowercase opening and “this essay” after a full stop. These errors sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to follow. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add controlled complex forms—for example, “Although some information should remain confidential, research findings can benefit society when shared.”
