Student answer (Band 5.0)
The group of people who believe to share the information as much as possible in scientific research, bussiness and acadamic world is a good chocise but not in all field they can share information in the acadamic world but in bussiness and research some infromation should be kept secret to avoid the stealing of ideas and making the companiese secret of success as private as possible. If someone try to steal the idea of your bussiness you will have a competation in the future with that company, which will result in the loss or marketshare now which before you where the big player off. the group of people who says that the information should kept secret has a valid point of not sharing as i mentiond before.
For example someone had a research going on Nuclear weapons in a controled manner and if they share the infromation of the research it would be very dangerous, same as the bussiness information lets spouse the coke has a special recipe of the drink thats there main bussiness backbone but if they share the recipe then it would be a disaster for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address the topic by explaining why some information may be kept private, using business competition and sensitive nuclear research as relevant examples. However, the task asks you to discuss both views and give your own opinion. The case for sharing information is only mentioned briefly at the start, with no explanation of its benefits, and your personal position is not clearly stated. The response therefore addresses the task only partially, and the ideas that are included remain under-developed. The response also falls 60 words short of the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain both sides. Develop a clear argument for sharing, explain the limits of secrecy, and state your own view directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation: the response introduces the disagreement, then focuses on reasons for keeping information private and gives examples from research and business. However, it does not progress through a clear discussion of both sides, and the opening sentence is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together. The examples are placed in one long final sentence rather than developed in a separate, clearly signposted paragraph. Linking phrases such as “For example” help introduce evidence, but connections between claims are limited, and “as I mentioned before” repeats an earlier point without advancing the argument. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, with clear topic sentences and links showing how each example supports its point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “steal the idea,” “market share,” “nuclear weapons,” and “special recipe.” These choices make the general subject understandable, and “backbone” attempts a more expressive way to describe the recipe’s importance. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are inaccurate or repeated, such as “information” and “business.” Spelling errors—including “bussiness,” “acadamic,” “chocise,” and “infromation”—are noticeable and can make reading less smooth. Some collocations are also unnatural, for example “a good choice” in this context and “secret of success.” Build a wider set of precise terms for sharing, protecting, and benefiting from research or commercial knowledge, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If someone try to steal the idea…” and a reason clause explaining why information might be kept secret. However, these complex attempts are often faulty, and the response relies heavily on long sentences joined with commas, which makes relationships between ideas unclear. There are frequent problems with verb forms and agreement: “someone try” should be “someone tries,” and “the group of people who says” should be “the group of people who say.” Other examples include “information should kept secret” and “if they share the recipe then it would be a disaster.” Use shorter, controlled sentences first, then practise accurate conditionals and clauses. Full stops and clearer sentence boundaries would also improve readability.
