Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that sharing information of a different fields such as scientific reasearch, business and academic is a good way to educate peopple. In contrast some people thinks that we should not spread the information which is crucial and valuable to be shared freely. In my opinion the important information should not be completely freely available.

Some people belives that sharing everything is good way to literate people. Because some people are not financially stable to pay for there education providing free resources will help them. For example, in Somalia the literacy rate is very low as compared to the developed countries due to their financial status, sharing information freely will improve there life style. That's why some people on this side.

On the otherhand, remainings are belives that eveything should not be freely available the teachers should also get something in return. In other words if someone spending there impportant time to prepare the content. They are hoping for something in return. For example, a video editor create contant about videography and uploading on online service website such as Udemy or Coursera to get some financial benefits because everyone has family to feed them.

In my opinion, showing people little bit like trailor about the content which they will get when they buy the course. It will help them to make a decision about the course and some content creator provide a life time access to that course. Otherwise sharing information for free may be the people will give the importance about the completion.

In conclusion, sharing knowledge about various fields for free is also a good way, but in contrast other people want to get something in return like money. From my perspective demanding something in return will increase the value of that information.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a personal position: you support access to information for education, while arguing that creators should receive something in return. The examples of limited educational access in Somalia and paid courses on Udemy or Coursera are relevant and help explain the two sides. However, the discussion is uneven. The first view is mainly linked to affordability, while the opposing view focuses on teachers and content creators earning income; the wider issue of protecting valuable scientific, business, or academic information is not explored. Your opinion about offering a preview before purchase is practical, but its connection to the topic could be explained more fully. Develop each argument with clearer reasoning and a more direct link to the kinds of information in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “In contrast,” “For example,” and “In conclusion.” However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “That’s why some people on this side” is an incomplete connection, and “On the otherhand, remainings” does not clearly identify the group being discussed. The opinion paragraph introduces previews and lifetime access without smoothly connecting these points to the earlier arguments. Use clearer topic sentences and refer explicitly to the two positions so that progression between ideas feels more continuous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “literacy rate,” “financially stable,” “financial benefits,” and “content creator,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. There are also attempts to express ideas beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, as in “reasearch,” “peopple,” “literate” where “educate” or “improve literacy” is intended, and “trailor.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “sharing information of a different fields” and “give the importance about the completion.” These issues reduce precision, especially when discussing the value or ownership of information. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “Because some people are not financially stable” and a conditional idea about sharing information. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “some people thinks” should use a plural verb, while “if someone spending” needs a finite verb such as “if someone spends.” The opening “Because” sentence is also a fragment, and “a video editor create” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Work on forming complete sentences and checking singular/plural subjects and verb forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your arguments easier to read.
