Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern era, some people believed that sharing data is beneficial to them, should be shared scientific research, academic or business, while some other people think that some of the data is confidential, it is not necessary to share it with everyone. In my point of view, it would be beneficial if people received useful data that might affect their lives and society's.
First and foremost, sharing valuable information publicly can lead to transformative benefits because of that people may aware of their nations research process. Also, sometimes it creates an understanding and they help them in that process. For instance, if citizens aware about these types of official research project they should be able to provide valuable information, which is helpful for that investigation. Another one, they might be get help from other countries or nations, financially or guide about that research, if they already done that project. So they can help to avoid some mistakes which was not suitable for that work.
On the other hand, some of the data is confidential or sensitive, not necessary to share with others because it might be affected on their investigation. One major reason is company or organizations spend large amount of money on that project, for new development. Scientific research may contain sensitive information that could be misused if it becomes publicly
available. Therefore, keeping certain data private is more safe for the company or businesses.
In conclusion, sharing information supports scientific progress and education, whereas keeping some sensitive data private protects valuable ideas and prevents misuse. I believe that balance between these two approaches is the best solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear position in the introduction and conclusion: sharing useful information can benefit society, but a balance is needed to protect sensitive material. The discussion of public research is relevant, particularly the idea that citizens or other countries could contribute information or guidance. You also explain that companies invest in projects and that research could be misused if released. However, these points are not developed equally: the benefits section offers examples, while the case for confidentiality is more general and does not explain a specific risk or give an example. Develop both sides with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning and make your own position more explicit about what should be shared and what should remain private.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that returns to your balanced position. Signposting such as “First and foremost,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “because of that people may aware” does not clearly connect the reason to its result, and “Another one” is an awkward transition to the next supporting point. The reference in “they help them in that process” is also unclear. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and make pronouns refer unmistakably to people, organisations, or research.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “confidential,” “sensitive,” “scientific research,” “misused,” and “valuable ideas,” which allows you to discuss both openness and protection. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “transformative benefits.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “sharing data is beneficial to them,” “nations research process,” and “guide about that research” do not express the intended ideas naturally. “Data” and “research” are repeated often, and some phrases are vague, such as “these types of official research project.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations for research, commercial investment, public access, and intellectual property, and check word forms and possessives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and relative clauses, as in “if citizens aware about these types of official research project” and “which is helpful for that investigation.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction make parts difficult to read. For example, “some people believed” shifts unnecessarily into the past, “people may aware” is missing a verb, and “they might be get help” combines incompatible verb forms. The opening sentence also joins several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise building accurate clauses with a subject and finite verb, then check tense consistency, singular/plural agreement, and article use while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
