Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the era of internet almost every type of information can be consumed by anyone. I partially agree that some information is too important and it shall not to be shared. This essay will highlight both the sides of the topic and lead to a thoughtful conclusion.
The most concerning and the challenging part, which is now becomming a trend is sharing the information about the scientific research with everyone. But many individual tends to forget that this scientific research carries a-lot of sensitive information and exposing this to every one may lead to a great chaos and sometimes its even becomes life threatening to the natives. For instance, when a scientist reveals the information about the research on a electric rail project he was terminated instantly and he was also hanged till death. Overall, research requires alot of fundings and many governments invests havily in it so it should not be share to everyone easily.
On the contrary, there is a strong reason to believe that sharing research will enhance the quality of the product. Many countries shares the scientific information to make the system and product more better and it also enhances the relation between the countries. For example, a country shares the source code of the spyware to another country just to make sure that they can use the product in an effective manner and they can also enhance the product quality and use it in an positive development.
In conclusion, research requires a-lot of investment and time so sharing information is never a good idea but sometimes to enhance the relation between two countries we may have to share the information.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a position—“I partially agree”—and include arguments for both restricting and sharing research, so the response is relevant to the prompt. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first body paragraph focuses on scientific research and gives a dramatic example, but does not explain clearly what information is sensitive or how sharing it would cause harm. The second paragraph also centres on research, leaving the prompt’s business and academic contexts largely unaddressed. Your conclusion says sharing is “never a good idea” but then allows that it may be necessary, so your final position is not fully clear. Develop specific reasons and examples for both views, and state a consistent opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signalled by “But” and “On the contrary,” and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This essay will highlight both the sides” announces the structure rather than advancing the argument, while “Overall” does not clearly show how the preceding example supports the paragraph’s point. The conclusion also shifts from saying sharing is “never a good idea” to allowing exceptions without resolving the tension. Use linking phrases to show precise relationships between claims and evidence, and make each paragraph’s central point and progression more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “sensitive information,” “scientific research,” “source code,” and “product quality,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “enhance the relation between the countries.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the meaning difficult to interpret: “a great chaos,” “use it in an positive development,” and “research requires alot of fundings.” Spelling and form errors such as “becomming,” “havily,” and “every one” are also noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing risks, benefits, and intellectual property, and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “the challenging part, which is now…” and a conditional structure with “may have to share.” However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “it shall not to be shared,” “many individual tends,” “a scientist reveals … he was terminated,” and “many governments invests.” The long sentence beginning “For instance, when a scientist…” also joins several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns, and article use, then check each sentence for a clear subject and main verb. Shorter, well-controlled sentences would improve readability.
