Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued by some people that sharing information for different purpose such as business, scientific research and for academic research is good. Not only because by sharing information can help to invent new thing and give profit in the business but also because it help to improve education.Although other people might disagree with the statement because if valuable information will be share it can interrupt the research and also a cause of huge loss in business.
On one hand the supporters of the idea who believe that sharing information is good because due to it scientist can improve the lives of people and in business people get huge profits. Take an example of Nasdac stock market of US, by sharing information before the 9/11 attack in 2009 helped thousands of investors to get their money out of the market as the market chrashed after that incident. Thus the supporters of this view can also use this incident to support their arguments.
While on the other hand, the advocates of the view that sharing information which is important can be dangerous as their concern is also valid because sharing valuable information can make more problems. For instance, a study of University of Harvard, reveal that the individuals who share information about their university thesis get lower grades because their friends stole their ideas and use their thesis information in their thesis.Hence, this view also seems to carry a lot of weightage.
However, in my opinion sharing information can be more helpful for world's progress.
To sum up, even though sharing valuable information can also be dangerous, but I beleive that sharing information is more important for every indiviual.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both positions and state your own view clearly in the final paragraphs: sharing information is ultimately more important for progress. The examples about investors and students’ thesis ideas are relevant to the topic, so the response addresses the main parts of the task. However, the arguments are not developed evenly. The first example is difficult to follow because the connection between sharing information and investors avoiding losses is not explained, while the second focuses narrowly on academic plagiarism. Your opinion is also asserted rather than supported with a reason or example. Explain the benefits and risks more precisely, then justify why you believe the benefits outweigh the risks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On one hand,” “While on the other hand,” and “To sum up” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, some linking is mechanical or awkward, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, “Thus the supporters of this view can also use this incident” repeats the point without advancing it, and the transition from the examples to your opinion is abrupt. Improve progression by explaining how each example supports its paragraph’s claim and by linking your opinion to the arguments already discussed. Check punctuation around sentence boundaries to make the flow easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “valuable information,” “scientific research,” “investors,” and “thesis,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “advocates” and “carry a lot of weight.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive. For instance, “huge weightage” is not a natural expression in this context, and “interrupt the research” does not clearly convey the intended risk. There are also spelling errors, including “Nasdac,” “chrashed,” and “beleive,” which reduce accuracy. Build precision by learning common academic collocations and checking spelling, while varying repeated uses of “sharing information” with suitable alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “Although other people might disagree” and a conditional structure with “if valuable information…”. However, some complex sentences are not controlled accurately, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to understand. Examples include “by sharing information can help,” where the subject is missing, and “if valuable information will be share,” which has an incorrect verb form. There are also agreement and article problems, as in “it help” and “a cause of huge loss.” Sentence boundaries and spacing need attention, too. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles; this will make your varied structures clearer and more reliable.
