Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify both sides of the topic: sharing research and academic information can build knowledge, while sensitive information such as national security policies may need protection. However, the response addresses the task only partially. The benefits are stated briefly, with no specific example or explanation of how sharing helps, and the point about business information being “partially better” to share is unclear. Your own position is not clearly established, and the conclusion is unfinished (“there should be proper security for risk of”). The response is also 109 words below the 250-word minimum; the 10 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count. Develop each view, state your opinion directly, and complete the essay with a supported conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “Firstly,” a point about information that should remain private, and a concluding phrase. This gives the reader some sense of the intended discussion. However, the progression is limited because each idea is introduced but not connected or developed, and the final sentence stops before completing its point. Linking words such as “Although” and “Moreover” do not clearly show the relationships between the ideas that follow them. Use separate, fully developed paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and connect each claim to an explanation or example. Clearer referencing and a complete conclusion would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “academic world,” “businesses,” “policies,” and “Security,” so the subject is generally recognisable. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as information that could “damage image of a country.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “information provide a knowledge,” “latest changing,” and “partially better to shared publically.” Spelling and word formation also affect clarity in “summerize” and “sumup.” Aim for more precise academic phrasing and check spelling; for example, describe information as “valuable” or “sensitive,” and explain what sharing it enables.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple sentences and a longer sentence beginning “Although,” showing some effort to vary structure. The main ideas can usually be identified, but errors in sentence construction and basic grammar are frequent enough to make parts difficult to understand. For example, “it help to gain a knowledge” has subject–verb agreement and article problems, while “too valuable to shared freely” is missing a required verb form. The opening also contains a sentence fragment-like construction, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise complete sentence patterns, agreement, articles, and verb forms, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries. Building accurate simple sentences first will help you extend them reliably.
