Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people think that it is good to tell as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others think that some information is too valuable to be shared freely because they do not want others to be as successful as them and to have as much knowledge as them. I personally think it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and academic world becuase you should also think good for others and but telling it to others you remember it more good.
Those people who think that information should not be shared do not want others to have as much knowledge as them. Even if they know a answer to something they do not want to tell them because they feel like a bigger person only knowing the answer to it.Even the people in scientific research do not share their ideas with the fair of others stealing it. Similarly students in the academic world do not share their learning methods so that only they can succeed and come first in class.
In my opinion, sharing information is a good thing. It makes your information even more memorable and it stays in your mind for a long time. For instance, I used to teach my bestfriend Mathematics questions which I used to practice and was good at. I used teach her that so in this way I get to practice those questions again andI became so much good at Mathematics. Also you are helping another person which is a morally good act and it makes you feel nice helping others. Knowledge increases if you share it and it does not makes you a bigger person if you share it. It is only morally nice act. When you share things you get other's opinion on that thing so your knowledge of that particular thing increases even more.
I beleive that you should always share informtion with other people because if you can help someone then it is very nice. Also the thing you tell others become even more memorable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a clear personal view in the opening and conclusion: you support sharing because it helps others and reinforces learning. You also mention reasons for restricting information, including fear of ideas being stolen and students wanting to succeed. However, the discussion only partially addresses the topic: the opposing view is mainly explained as selfishness, rather than considering legitimate concerns such as commercial confidentiality, privacy, or protecting valuable research. Your own position is repeated, but its support is narrow and largely based on your experience teaching a friend mathematics. Develop both sides more evenly and add a relevant example from business or scientific research to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to the opposing view, then your opinion and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “For instance” signal an example. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive: the ideas that sharing helps others and makes knowledge memorable recur several times without being developed further. Some connections are unclear, particularly “because you should also think good for others and but telling it to others,” and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and organise each body paragraph around one main point supported by a specific example.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main position and examples, including “scientific research,” “learning methods,” and “morally good act.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, such as “as much knowledge as them,” “bigger person,” and repeated use of “good.” Spelling errors, including “becuase,” “beleive,” and “informtion,” also reduce accuracy. Some phrases are not natural in this context, for example “I became so much good at Mathematics.” Aim for more precise language about the topic, such as protecting intellectual property or sharing expertise, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main ideas using mostly simple sentences and make some attempts to connect clauses with “because,” “so,” and “which.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to follow. Examples include “they do not want others to be as successful as them,” “Even if they know a answer,” and “It does not makes you a bigger person.” There are also faulty constructions such as “I used teach her” and “by telling it to others you remember it more good.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, then build more varied sentences while keeping each clause clear.
