Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that whether it is good to share valuable information of scientific data , business or academics or it is appropriate to keep this information secret and not to share freely. In my opinion, both prespectives have valid points but the information should be kept private because it is too sensitive to be shared and not widely disseminate among public.

In research academic and in business world, the information and data is quite valuable beacuse it impacts majority of the population. Data or any information which people use in their own favor should not be shared. The main concern is that in this way ,the data manipulated easily and considered skewed and eventually outcome would be effected. Further more it causes serious dangerouse effect. people use the data to harm or threat others. for instance, if the formula of the chemical revealed by any scientists to do research the people use this for their own reason or personal benefit.

Another significant disadvantage is the risk of personal information being easily accessible to others. Malicious individuals may misuse this data to manipulate people, deceive people for financial benefit or invade their privacy, which can lead to serious consequences.

On the other hand, making information publicly available can cause serious problem but it also help to collaborate with different research scientific society and experte and accelerate more discoveries and innovation in different countries. Similarily, in business the information disseminated in different cooperation world help customers to invest the project which leads to better productivity. In academic worlds the teacher allow access students to their research papers it encourage students to learn more and borden their knowledge.

In conclusion, although sharing information is beneficial to some extend but at some point keep this information valuable is also necessary to avoid serious problems. Unrestricted access to scientic research , business and academics data leads to serious privacy violation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both positions and state a clear preference for keeping sensitive information private, so the response addresses the main parts of the task. The paragraph supporting openness gives relevant benefits, including international research collaboration, innovation, business productivity and students’ learning. However, the case for restricting access receives more development, and some supporting points are unclear or insufficiently explained. For example, the chemical-formula example suggests possible misuse but does not explain what harm might result or how this supports limits on sharing. Your conclusion restates your view, but could more directly weigh the benefits against the risks. Develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example, and clarify the limits of your position—for instance, distinguishing sensitive personal or commercial data from findings that can safely be shared.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on risks, a paragraph on benefits, and a conclusion. The shift to the opposing view with “On the other hand” helps readers follow the discussion, and the examples are generally placed with the relevant points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The first body paragraph moves from data manipulation to danger and then to a chemical formula without clearly connecting these ideas. Linking phrases such as “Further more” and “Similarily” are also used mechanically, while the repeated references to “information” and “data” do not always make the relationships between points clear. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, then explain and illustrate it in sequence, using clearer referencing and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “disseminated,” “collaborate,” “innovation,” “manipulate,” and “privacy violation.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, several spelling errors and inaccurate word choices reduce precision, including “prespectives,” “beacuse,” “dangerouse,” “experte,” and “scientic.” Some combinations are also unnatural or unclear, such as “in different cooperation world” and “keep this information valuable.” Repetition of “information” and “data” limits flexibility, and “serious” is used several times without more specific description. Check spelling carefully, learn common academic collocations, and choose precise terms for the type of information or harm being discussed; this will make your argument clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “information which people use in their own favor” and a longer sentence describing misuse of personal information. However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation sometimes make ideas harder to follow. For example, “the information and data is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it also help to collaborate” needs an agreeing verb and a clearer grammatical construction. The opening sentence is difficult to parse because of its “whether … or” structure, and several sentences run together after full stops, as in “dangerouse effect. people use.” Practise building clear topic sentences and checking each clause for a complete subject and verb, agreement, and appropriate punctuation.
