Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify both sides of the issue and state that you will give your opinion, but the response only minimally addresses the full task. The benefits paragraph gives one relevant example—a psychology student using research—but does not explain the wider value of sharing in business or academia. The opposing view is introduced through possible threats, yet the explanation is unfinished and your own opinion is never actually stated. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, leaving little space to develop reasons or examples. To improve, explain both perspectives fully, make your position explicit, and support it with specific examples before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting information-sharing, and a paragraph introducing concerns about sharing. This gives the reader some sense of direction, and phrases such as “On the other hand” signal a contrast. However, the overall progression is incomplete: the final paragraph stops before its point is explained, and there is no conclusion to bring the discussion together. Some links are also awkward or unclear, such as “thereby people can learn” and “therefore this can create serious issues.” Develop each paragraph around a complete main idea, use clear links between cause and result, and add a concluding paragraph that states your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “scientific research,” “commercial field,” “clinical psychology,” and “prohibited.” These choices show some range beyond very basic language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the message less clear: “degital,” “prespectives,” and “numerious” are misspelled, while “essential information needed protect” is not an effective way to express the idea. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “individuals who are involved in researches.” Aim for accurate topic vocabulary and natural collocations, and proofread spelling. For example, use “researchers” for people conducting research and “information should be protected” to express the opposing view clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a psychology student can obtain information … by gathering the data from a research” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, control is inconsistent, and several errors affect clarity. The opening contains incomplete constructions (“while others think, essential information needed protect”), and “the ideas can be develop” has an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles and number, as in “a research” and “involved in researches.” Work on complete clause structure, subject–verb patterns, and verb forms; then check each sentence for missing words and correct agreement before submitting.
