Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that ,Few people believe that information should be shared as freely in science and education, while other believe some information is too important or much valuable to be shared freely. In this eassy i will discuss both views .

first and foremost ,there are strong argunments in favour of sharing information freely ,the main advantage is that accelarate the progress and innovation. in the field of science and academic ,where researchers share their finding .Other scientist use these information for more discoveries .For instance , during the covid 19 , there are huge research on the vaccine of covid ,similarly the business sharing knowledge helps the companies whose work on data collection of related genes ,furthermore there are lots of research take place with the helps of different companies

In the other hand , some information are considered to valuable and sensitive to be shared freely , such as companies spend lots of money on research and development which is helpful for just decision , For example , if someone share information to another companies regarding formula they may face huge financial lose , and struggle for selling , mian reason they can snatch sensitive information ,they may introduce new product before who have an idea or development of this product and takes huge advantage as a financially and credability wise ,

To sum up, some people believe we should share information freely in science and education while other people believe that information is too valuable if we share these information we may take huge lose in financailly point of view or may lose some credability

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion: the first body paragraph explains how sharing research can support scientific progress, while the second describes risks to companies that disclose valuable information. The vaccine example is relevant, and you give a clear concluding preference for caution about financial and reputational losses. However, the position is not fully clear or consistently developed: the introduction says you will discuss both views but does not state your own opinion, and the conclusion mainly repeats the opposing concerns rather than clearly weighing them. Several points, such as the business benefits of sharing and the consequences of disclosure, are asserted without enough explanation or a precise example. State your view directly and develop each main reason with clearer support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from scientific research to business and gene data without clearly explaining the connection, and the second combines several consequences in one long sequence. Linking phrases such as “first and foremost,” “for instance,” and “to sum up” are used, but some transitions are inaccurate or mechanical, and references such as “these information” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, then explain and illustrate it in order; use linking expressions only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “progress and innovation,” “research and development,” “sensitive,” and “financial advantage,” so the reader can follow the general discussion. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “much valuable,” “huge financial lose,” “snatch sensitive information,” and “credability wise”; these are either inaccurate or unnatural in this context. Repeated use of “information,” “share,” and “huge” also limits precision. Build a more accurate set of expressions for discussing research, intellectual property, and commercial risk, and check spelling and word forms. More precise phrasing would make your arguments clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some longer sentence forms to explain causes and examples, but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that can make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “some information are considered to valuable” has problems with agreement and sentence construction, while “Other scientist use these information” has errors in number and reference. Several sentences run together, particularly the discussion of companies’ research and the possible financial consequences, and punctuation does not reliably mark sentence boundaries. There is also limited evidence of accurately controlled complex structures. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, checking singular and plural agreement, articles, and verb forms, and separating related points with appropriate punctuation.
