Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people argue that it is good to share information about research, business and the academic world while some believe that not every information is likely to be shared. I believe that there should be transparency between consumer and buyer but some information should remain confidential. This essay will discuss both views before agruing that, some information are valuable to be shared with the people.
To begin with, if company share information with their customer they tend to trust them more and sales of the company will eventually boost. The government also share some of their innovation with the common people so that they know the taxes they pay brings some good outcome. For example, the government arrange seminars and events for common people and show them thier research in different fields through which people engage more in innovation and it builds stronger relationships.
However, some companies think that valuable information should not be share freely. For example, the food company will not share their recipe as other people might use that and create a better version or they start their own company. The privacy of some informantion is necessary as people might copy their ideas. Because of that so many companies try to remain confidential about the products and the methods as they have work harder to gain them.
To conclude, sharing information with people helps in building stronger relationships but this has many drawbacks. I believe that some data are valuable and they should not be shared with anyone as many people can copy them and create their own products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both positions and state a view: the introduction supports transparency while allowing some information to remain confidential, and the conclusion argues that valuable data should not be shared. However, this position shifts somewhat, and the final view is not fully reconciled with the earlier support for sharing. The examples about government seminars and a food-company recipe are relevant, but the first is not clearly connected to scientific research, business, and academia as a whole, and the reasons are only briefly explained. To strengthen the response, make your opinion consistent throughout and develop each side with a clearer explanation of who benefits or may be harmed by sharing particular information.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for the benefits of sharing, one for confidentiality, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “To conclude” help signal this progression. Some connections are less smooth or precise, though. For example, “This essay will discuss both views before…” is followed by a position that does not clearly match the conclusion, and “Because of that” repeats the causal link already made in the preceding sentence. The first body paragraph also moves from customer trust to government seminars without a clear transition. Use more precise references and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “transparency,” “confidential,” “innovation,” “research,” and “privacy,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “not every information,” “share freely,” and “valuable to be shared” do not sound natural in context; “information” is also repeated frequently. Spelling slips such as “thier” and “informantion” reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and check collocations and spelling. For instance, distinguish between sharing findings openly and protecting commercially sensitive information, rather than relying on the broad word “information.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and causal structures such as “if company share information…” and “as other people might use that.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “if company share,” “The government also share,” “the taxes they pay brings,” and “should not be share freely.” The opening sentence also contains an awkwardly joined contrast, while the comma after “arguing that” is unnecessary. Review subject–verb agreement and passive forms, and practise building accurate complex sentences. These corrections would make your reasoning easier to follow without changing the ideas.
