Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: “I believe in second view,” which gives the response a relevant focus. The example of keeping information about an atom bomb secret also relates to the value of restricting sensitive knowledge. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The case for sharing information is described vaguely through “important notes about all the classes,” and the example about advanced countries does not clearly show how open research or business information benefits people. Your own view is stated, but the reasons for it—such as preventing harm or protecting commercial investment—need clearer explanation and support. Develop each side with a specific reason and a relevant example, and make the conclusion’s position consistent and explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding paragraph. These signposts help readers identify the two views. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are loosely connected, as in the first body paragraph’s movement from “important notes about all the classes” to employment and national progress. Linking phrases such as “for this” are repeated without always making the relationship between claims clear. The conclusion also introduces “violation among individuals” without preparing this idea earlier. Build each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it; use referencing and transitions that make the links between sentences precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “scientific research,” “academic world,” “limited,” and “secret,” and you use some topic-related expressions such as “atom bomb.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make meaning harder to understand. Phrases such as “free mood,” “secret mood,” “proper in individuals,” and “well maintained phenomena” do not express the intended ideas clearly. There are also spelling errors, including “scanario” and “comman.” Aim for precise, natural collocations rather than repeating “important information” and “secret.” For example, distinguish between “share research findings openly,” “protect confidential data,” and “restrict access to sensitive information.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “whereas,” “because,” and “when,” and the reader can generally identify the broad argument. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “important information does not share freely and keep it secret” has an unclear subject and incorrect verb construction; “when a country started to prepare an atom bomb, its a secret” also has problems with tense and sentence structure. Articles, agreement, and punctuation are inconsistent, and several sentences run together after full stops, as in the introduction. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb relationships, verb forms, and sentence boundaries during editing.
