Student answer (Band 6.0)
In Today's modern world, information plays vital role in scientific research, business and education. Some people believe that people shold share as much imformation as possible because it helps others gain knowledge and make better progress. However, other argue that certain information is too valuable and important to be shared freely. This essay discuss both views along with my opinion as I believe that sharing information is beneficial but some information shold remained unshared due to security.
On the one hand, sharing information can bring many benefits to society. Firstly, it allowe people to learn from each other and develop new ideas. When scientist share thier research ideas and logical, information, other researcher can use this knowledge to conduct furthre practicals and find better solutions to existing problems. This can save both time and money beacuse they do not need to repeat same research. Secondly, sharing information in academic world helps student to gain better education and improve their knowledge. For example, when universities provide free online practicals and courses, previous years papers, student from poor families can also recevice good quality education. Therefore, sharing information can support education and encourage scientific develop very well.
On the other hand, there are some reasons why some information should not be shared freely. Firstly, in the business world, companies spend considerable amount of time, money and effort to develope creavitve products and technologies. If they share all information to other comapny may copy their work and gain unnecessay finanical benefits without doing original work. For instance, a comapny that make new mobile with advance technology, they keep their technical information secret and do not provide to any company and to maintain their position in the market. Secondly, many information is highly sensitive and can create serious problem if informartion reached on wrong person.
In my opinion, both views have their own importance, but I support to the latter view as some information should not be shared freely to anyone. Many information should be protected which is related to medical, bank details and many more.
In conclusion, sharing information can helps to gain knowledge and improve progress, while keeping certain details private can protect business and people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: sharing is beneficial, but some information should remain protected. The benefits are supported with relevant examples, such as free university courses helping students from poorer families and shared research avoiding duplicated effort. The business argument about companies protecting technology is also relevant. However, the opposing view is developed more fully than the risks of sharing: the point that sensitive information could reach the wrong person is not explained with a specific consequence or example. Your own position also shifts slightly, since the introduction supports selective sharing while the opinion paragraph says you support the latter view. Make your position consistent and develop the security argument more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a statement of opinion, and a conclusion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers navigate the argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some stronger control through paragraphing and progression. However, the repeated “Firstly” and “Secondly” pattern makes development somewhat mechanical, and the separate opinion paragraph repeats ideas from the introduction and conclusion rather than advancing the discussion. Some references are also unclear, as in “they keep their technical information secret,” where the pronoun could refer to the company or its products. Use more varied links and clearer referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “scientific research,” “sensitive,” “technical information,” and “financial benefits.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “existing problems” and “position in the market.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable throughout, including “imformation,” “furthre,” “creavitve,” and “unnecessay,” and some combinations are unnatural, such as “scientific develop” and “gain knowledge and improve progress.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they limit precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, rather than translating individual words directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If they share all information … may copy their work” and a time clause beginning “When universities provide…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “it allowe people” and “sharing information can helps,” missing or incorrect articles in “plays vital role” and “repeat same research,” and an incomplete conditional construction in “If they share all information to other company may copy their work.” The final sentence of the business paragraph, “Secondly, many information is highly sensitive…,” also has agreement problems. Practise building accurate conditional sentences and checking articles, plurals, and agreement while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
