Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, sharing inforamtion plays an importanat role in science, business and education. Some people that sharing information freely has many benefits, while others believe that valiuable information should be kept privately. I believe that sharing information helps gain people's knowledge but sensitive information should be kept privately.
To begin with, there are several information why sharing information is important for people. First, it helps improve people's knowledge. People can learn new knowledge from others. They can become aware regarding current affairs and research, which helps to take them best decision of their knowledge. For example, elderly people can share information related to education, through which students can access better education. Secondly, sharing information helps in scientific development. Researchers can share new discoveries and find better medical treatments for diseases, such as during covid-19 researchers from all over counteries shared medical information to develop vaccines and treatments.
On the other side, some people believe that some information should be kept private because it may be too sensitive and valuable. First, business needs to protect their ideas and strategies from competiters. If they share it openly, they may face business loss or financial loss. Furthermore, valuable information regarding bank details and finances should always be kepy safel;y and privately. If these information may leak without permission, it can be misused by other. For instance, companies often kept their products designs and recepies from others to protect their businesses. Consequently, keeping some information privately is important for safety.
In conclusion, although sharing information is essential for gaining knowledge and scientific development, I believe that personal information and businesses should be kept privately.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear position: sharing supports knowledge and scientific progress, while sensitive personal and business information should remain private. The examples about vaccine development and protecting company designs are relevant and help explain your points. This meets the core requirements well. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the point about elderly people sharing educational information is not clearly explained, and the risks of sharing financial details could be linked more explicitly to consequences such as fraud or identity theft. To strengthen the response further, explain each example’s relevance and distinguish more precisely between information that benefits the public and information that requires protection.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction presents the issue and your view, two body paragraphs discuss opposing positions, and the conclusion restates your opinion. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” make the structure easy to follow. Some linking is repetitive or slightly mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “First” and “Furthermore.” A few connections between claims and examples could also be clearer; for instance, the elderly-people example does not immediately show how information-sharing improves education. Use a wider range of transitions and make the relationship between each supporting example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “scientific development,” “medical treatments,” “sensitive,” and “financial loss,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range and control are limited by repeated wording such as “information,” “sharing,” and “privately,” as well as inaccurate word choices and collocations. Phrases such as “there are several information,” “take them best decision,” and “kept safely and privately” are not natural in this context. Spelling errors, including “inforamtion,” “importanat,” “valiuable,” and “competiters,” also weaken precision. Build a more varied set of topic expressions and check spelling and collocations carefully; this would make your meaning more fluent and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “which” and “because,” and the overall meaning remains understandable. However, grammatical control is uneven, with errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “some people that sharing information” needs a complete reporting structure, while “If these information may leak” has a plural-agreement problem and an awkward conditional construction. In “companies often kept,” the tense does not fit a general statement. Some sentences also combine ideas without a clear grammatical relationship. Practise accurate clause patterns and review agreement and tense choices, then proofread each sentence for a complete, well-formed structure.
