Student answer (Band 6.0)

A number of people believe that it should be seen positive to share as much information as possible in scientific research, bussiness and the academic world, while others claim that some information is too sensitive to be shared. Although sharing much information is helpful to researchers, employees and students, i believe that the disclosure of sensitive information will negatively affect researchers, bussiness owners and academic environment.

On the one hand, if the information is shared it will make the people life much easier and accessable in some areas. The scientist researchers, if shared there findings it will be used by researchers for many discoveries. For instance, the health researchers used the shared data to develope a new medicine without spending again on collecting data. Then these research papers can be used by students for there Final Year Project at university level study. However, if much information should shared with employees they can understand the terminology of office environment and perform much better rather than experiencing himself and making mistakes.

On the other hand, it is quite sensitive to share some information. If all the information should become available to everyone. There is a high probability of misuse of that information. If scientist share all the information of there researches, which might include the outputs that is quite dangerous. For instance, the discovery of atomic bomb - scientist cannot shared how this is discoverd because one atomic bomb can take so many people lives. Now if the Bussiness owner shared there idea of there bussiness that how the secret formula used to make this e.g. this specific food flavor, then they might loss there coustmers because anyone can then make that falvor by themself with spending on there food flavor and the company ended up broke. Therefore, some information need to be kept secret.

To conclude, It is seen as postive to share much information to give much advantage to people but with some restrictions in these areas, for our own saftey.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear opinion: sharing can benefit researchers, students and employees, but sensitive material should be protected. The examples of research data supporting medicine development and the risks of sharing atomic-bomb information or a food formula are relevant and help explain your position. This meets the task well overall. However, some points are asserted more than developed: the benefits to employees are described generally, and the business example would be stronger if you explained more precisely how disclosure harms the company. To move further, extend each main idea with a clear explanation and a specific consequence, and make your final position on what should be shared more precise. The length requirement is met; 10 words copied from the prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples generally sit with the relevant argument. Some connections are less smooth, however. The shift from research data to students and then employees in the first body paragraph feels like a list rather than a developed sequence. The sentence beginning “If all the information should become available to everyone” is also left incomplete, which interrupts the flow. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and ensure every sentence forms a complete thought.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “sensitive information,” “misuse,” “research papers,” and “secret formula,” so the reader can understand the main arguments. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors are noticeable. Examples include “accessable,” “develope,” “there findings,” “coustmers,” and “ended up broke”; these reduce precision and sometimes make the reader pause. Some phrases are also awkward, such as “the people life much easier” and “spending on there food flavor.” Build a more accurate set of expressions for discussing benefits, risks, and intellectual property, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the examples clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex structures, including conditional clauses such as “if the information is shared” and a concession in the introduction beginning “Although.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation and verb patterns sometimes make ideas difficult to follow. For example, “The scientist researchers, if shared there findings it will be used” has an unclear subject and mismatched agreement, while “if much information should shared” is missing a verb form. “If all the information should become available to everyone” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Practise building complete clauses with clear subjects and consistent verb forms, and review punctuation where sentences run together, as in “broke.Therefore.”
