Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a position: sharing information supports scientific and educational development, while private information should be protected. Relevant examples include scientists sharing medical research and companies guarding business ideas. However, several points are only listed rather than explained; for instance, “Business improvement” and “Financial loss” need clearer reasoning about how sharing or withholding information produces these outcomes. Your conclusion repeats your view but does not resolve the balance between the two sides in much detail. The response contains 227 words, below the required 250; the 52 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop the examples and explain your position more fully to address the task more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within the body paragraphs is limited, and ideas often appear as disconnected points: “Business improvement,” “Also Solve problems,” and “Financial loss” are not smoothly linked to the surrounding explanation. Connectors such as “For example,” “Also,” and “Moreover” are repeated or used mechanically, while some transitions are unclear. Plan each paragraph around one main claim, then explain it and give a relevant example. Clearer links between sentences and more precise referencing would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “scientific research,” “confidential information,” “competitors,” and “treatments.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “share,” “information,” and “For example.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “peolpe,” “reasion,” and “to important,” which reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Some expressions are unnatural or imprecise, including “learn more knowledge” and “a many scientific research.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations for discussing research, intellectual property, and privacy, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences use simple structures, and the central meaning is generally understandable, but attempts at longer sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “sharing information increased knowledge” has an incorrect verb form, while “it help Scientific development” has subject–verb disagreement. In “too valuable to shared freely,” the infinitive construction is incomplete, and “more and more student learning” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase and plural agreement. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “On the one hand, Some peolpe” and “because, Companies.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine ideas using controlled clauses and check agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
