Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some individual thought that it is much better to give as much information as feasible in scientific investigation, business and the academic world while some people think that some data is too crucial or too valuable to be given liberally.
To commence with, there are a lot things in which people are unaware of it. If we share some knowledge to keep them aware about the facts of scientific information and other academic deatail. Furthurmore, awareness like new research or the invention of something very new for the benefit of mankind. According to the investigation of Cambridge University there are alot of inventions that people are not have any knowledge about it such as technology some do not know how can we use technology not only for our benefit but also for country development.
On the other hand, some information are confidential so we can not allow to share it with others just like ideas. Every company has its own intel abot the project on which they are working so they are strictly banned to give data on some social media site or to some other friends. In my personal experience, last week when i went to islamabad to meet my cousin. After staying there a month he was working on some personal projects and i m very curious to know about this. He was not telling me something beacuse he was bound to some restrictions. Moreover, this type of information is very costlt to share.
I stronly beleive that we have to share just about the benefit in which people are willing to take advantage of it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both sides of the discussion: the first body paragraph argues that sharing research can raise awareness and benefit society, while the second explains why companies protect project information. Your final sentence also gives a personal view. However, the position is not fully clear or developed: “share just about the benefit” does not explain what should be shared or where limits should apply. The supporting ideas remain general, and the Cambridge University reference is not explained or connected to a specific example. The personal anecdote illustrates confidentiality, but it focuses on one cousin’s project rather than developing the wider business or academic argument. Make your opinion explicit and support each side with a clearer reason or relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a concluding opinion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from general awareness to inventions and technology without clearly showing how these points support open sharing. Some linking phrases, including “To commence with” and “Furthermore,” feel mechanical, and references such as “it” in “people are unaware of it” are unclear. The conclusion is very brief and does not draw together the discussion. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, then connect each example directly to that claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “confidential,” “invention,” “research,” and “restrictions,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “for the benefit of mankind.” However, the range is limited and several choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “give information liberally” and “some information are confidential” do not express the ideas naturally; “intel” is also too informal for this essay. Spelling errors such as “deatail,” “Furthurmore,” “costlt,” and “beleive” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If we share some knowledge…” and a relative clause in “the project on which they are working.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include “there are a lot things,” “some information are,” and “people are not have any knowledge”; these show problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms. The sentence beginning “If we share…” is also incomplete as written, and the anecdote shifts awkwardly between past and present forms. Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention as well. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences before adding longer clauses.
