Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research , business and the academic world .Other believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared free.

In researches sharing known information for formation of vaccine, climate change can help scientist in formation of new vaccine and do there work would become easy and fast. As previsely in covid19 when scientist worked together from differnt nation then only succed in making of covid19 vaccine and sharing information can incorage healthy competition. But sharing a information is compleaty in hand of the information holder.

On the other hand, its also very important hide a too important or too valuable information as it help to build an intire carrer as business spend million of dollar in research if they simply release them other brand would steal them and the brand will goo in a business loss.

In conclusion share a in formation weather it is a scientific info or a business if there is no loss in sharing it would be perfectly fine to share but if there no ;loss in business it would be a bad decetion to share.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion: sharing research is linked to vaccine development, while protecting valuable information is linked to businesses safeguarding their investment. Your conclusion also attempts to state a condition for sharing. However, the position is not fully clear because the final sentence repeats the idea of “no loss” in a way that makes your view difficult to interpret, and the supporting ideas remain brief. The COVID-19 example is relevant but needs clearer explanation of how international cooperation helped. The response contains 163 words, so it is 87 words below the 250-word minimum; 35 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each side with a reason and a specific example, then state your opinion directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting information-sharing, a contrasting paragraph about protecting information, and a conclusion. “On the other hand” helps signal the change in viewpoint, and the main ideas can generally be followed. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several points are compressed into long or unclear sentences, particularly the opening of the first body paragraph. The conclusion’s repeated “if there is no loss” also makes the relationship between the ideas confusing. Use one main point per paragraph, explain it before adding an example, and use clear references such as “this information” rather than repeating “information” or leaving the connection implicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “scientific research,” “climate change,” “competition,” “research,” and “business loss,” which allows you to discuss both sides of the issue. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make meaning less clear, such as “sharing known information for formation of vaccine” and “hide a too important or too valuable information.” Spelling errors such as “previsely,” “differnt,” and “incorage” are also noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe researchers as “sharing findings to support vaccine development,” and explain that companies may “protect commercially valuable research” rather than simply “hide” information.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas using clauses, as in “when scientist worked together from differnt nation,” and you use a basic range of sentence forms. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and punctuation frequently make the message harder to follow. Examples include “Other believe,” “scientist worked,” and “if they simply release them,” where the subject and verb or pronoun reference are not controlled. The first body paragraph also joins several ideas without clear sentence boundaries. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached reason or example, and check singular/plural agreement, articles, and full stops before submitting.
