Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the maps, including the transition from a simple road layout to a dual carriageway and the addition of new facilities. However, the description is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision in spatial referencing. For instance, stating 'remining all are same' is vague and does not clearly explain the spatial changes. While the main features are identified, the comparison between the present and future states could be more analytical. To improve, ensure that all key changes, such as the relocation of the school or the specific transformation of the north side, are described with greater clarity and detail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'But in the future development plan, It shows the alot of innovation'. The logical progression is occasionally hindered by sentence-level errors, making the flow feel disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example, 'remining all are same which are connecting to dual carriageway'. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would significantly enhance the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'The maps gives the information' (should be 'give') and 'alot of innovation' (should be 'a lot of development'). The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms like 'shops', 'housing', and 'developed'. To achieve a higher score, you should incorporate more specific terminology related to urban planning, such as 'infrastructure', 'pedestrianised', 'residential zones', or 'commercial facilities', and ensure correct collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The maps gives'), incorrect article usage ('It has school'), and awkward sentence construction ('Which is some main road connecting'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalisation in the middle of sentences. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and correct article usage will help improve the accuracy of your writing.
