IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The maps demonstrate the centre of a small town which called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.

Overall, it can be noted that, for planned development there will have been develop a dual carriageway and middle of the carriageway all shops, house, park, station and car park develop.

At the present, from the north side has a small village. Additionally, the main road between there are a shops on the north side. Moreover, middle of the Islip town centre there is housing, and

east side of the town centre has a park. On the south side and south west side has another housing and school.

However, for planned development there will have been dual carriageway in round shape. Middle of the Islip town centre there will have been many places such as bus station, shopping centre, car park, new housing, pedestrians, shops, housing and park which will have been covered by dual carriageway. Furthermore, the school and housing will remain same in south side and south east side.
