Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the maps, including the new housing, the shopping centre, and the pedestrianisation of the main road. However, the overview is somewhat weak and lacks a clear, concise summary of the most significant changes. While the response identifies key developments, some descriptions are slightly inaccurate (e.g., the park is not 'conjusted', but rather reduced in size). The report would benefit from a more analytical approach to the comparisons between the current and future states, rather than simply listing the changes in a sequential manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a summary. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In summary', though some transitions feel mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally imprecise, making it slightly difficult to follow the spatial relationships between the new structures. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different areas of development, which helps the reader navigate the information provided.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'sittuation', 'regaurding', 'majorr', 'tge', 'convinients', 'tgere', 'diveesity'). These errors are noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'pedestrians', 'dual gate way road', and 'commercial area', the lack of precision and the high frequency of spelling mistakes limit the score. More attention to proofreading is required to improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses ('majorr changing will be occur'), articles ('in the area of shops'), and word forms ('minor changings'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Greater control over subject-verb agreement and tense consistency is needed.
