Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the maps, including the new dual carriageway, bus station, shopping center, and housing developments. You have successfully identified the key changes and made comparisons between the current and future states. However, the overview is slightly weak; while you mention some developments, it lacks a clear summary of the most significant transformation, such as the town's expansion and the shift in infrastructure. To improve, ensure your overview highlights the most striking changes, such as the transition from a simple town layout to a more complex, infrastructure-heavy design. The description of the housing relocation is a bit vague, which could be improved by being more precise about the specific areas mentioned on the map.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs detailing the changes. You use cohesive devices such as 'Additionally,' 'Moreover,' and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more refined. For instance, the second paragraph is quite short and could be better integrated. The referencing is generally clear, but ensure that the flow between sentences is smoother to avoid a list-like feel. Overall, the information is presented in a way that is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a coherent response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'blueprints,' 'dual carriageway,' and 'relocated.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'constructions an facilities' (should be 'construction and facilities') and 'Southern-West site' (should be 'South-West'). The phrase 'increase the satisfaction level of customers' is a bit unnatural in this context; 'to serve the needs of residents' would be more appropriate. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise geographical and descriptive language to describe the town's layout and the nature of the changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'developments will be taken place' (should be 'will take place'), 'a circular dual carriageway will be constructed' (correct), and 'along side this center a car park will also be to increase' (missing a verb, e.g., 'will also be added'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately. Proofreading for small omissions like missing articles or prepositions will also help improve your accuracy.
